Oh, I have seen some IoJ zergs, and SF zergs, and DH zergs. I have also seen singles, doubles and small groups. It happens at all times, every day. Not everything each server does is the same all the time, there are different groups on at different times, and they have different tactics.

I run with the same group every day (my guild), sometimes there is a zerg, sometimes it’s just a few of us. But one thing I can guarantee, we have FUN! (DO not be surprised if you see us circling like sharks around your stuff…or possibly jumping off a cliff)

I am hoping this will continue to be a fun matchup!

Have to agree with Crimson a lot there, especially at the end. We may not LIKE you flipping our stuff, but we dont come on here and complain about it. Its a fact of life since we’ve been against servers with more population then us. The keep is going to flip. You’re not in the soft lands down below where your numbers are enough to hold a keep easily no problemo, theres gonna be a challenge, and its only going to get harder the higher you go (Respect to Kaineng getting where they were with all the haters) We all want to see you prevail and go up SF after being stuck so low for so kitten long, but dont be hatin on us for doing what you’ve gotten use to doing to other people.

Im sure a lot of us can all agree that SF didnt belong in T8, and if they can work out their kinks they dont belong in T6 either. You could go up a couple more tiers if you work at it. Like crimson said, IOJ is basically a bunch of friends havin’ fun after the transfer genocide. Anyways, GL to SF and DH for the rest of the week, been a fun filled week for sure so far <3

TL;DR.

Every time I see a post that starts with “To the _Servername_Player” I skip it. You guys wonder why IoJ is quiet on the forums? It’s because you all talk enough. There is no alliance. Just a Harhar Troll guild. IoJ has been struggling long enough to earn a moment of fun I think, rolling from t1 down to this (thanks anet & the transfew debacle). IoJ didn’t work together with DR in what t4? Or was it 3? 5? I dont remember. But we couldn’t come together against the mega servers then, don’t get silly and think we’d do it now with SF and/or DH depending on the conspiracy theorist. IoJ is chillin down here in this tier. Just some bros having fun. That’s all.

Before you take offense, I will say that I appreciate the match up. Don’t mind Starkk. He’s a good lad. And sadly for most of you not on IoJ, Starkk has 99% of the Pacific players at his bidding. Call it pvdooring if you must. I call it “defend more, and stop expecting us to only take the keeps/towers you occupy”. IoJ is and always will be the Oceanic server. Sorry. Just the way it is.

You guys are a blast. Don’t be silly with the server alliance nonsense. There isn’t one. We hit DH just as much as SF. We’re just a little more tactical about what we do as we don’t roll HUDURZURGs. Just some dudes, playing as other dudes, and dudes playing as chicks as real life dudes, that drink beer.

We’re here for fun. I hope you all are too. We’re effing sick of servers with 3x our population. This match has been the best in over 4 months for IoJ in terms of “lol”.

Good games. Have a laugh. We don’t cry about your primetimes rolling our maps, so stop crying about oceanics rolling yours. It’s sad. We haven’t been in first place since January. And we don’t really care. We’re in it for the fun. And this last week has been pretty dang fun.

TL;DR: …….. Srsly stfu ppl. I’m saying this to my server (SF) as much as I am to anyone else.

I was STOKED to see the atmosphere in the match up thread once we hit T6. It was like a breath of fresh air after the joke that was T7 match up thread(s). I’ll be kitten if this degrades into the kitten PvF bullkitten the last one did.

I don’t want to encourage server drama and kitten so I’ll address this entirely to SF (with much kittening <3 guys). What the KITTEN did you expect? We’ve been working on server-wide coordination since Tkittening8 and from daykittening1 we’ve been bringing up the insanely crippling vulnerability that is our coverage from (liberally/roughly) 1AM server time – 10AM server time. It was and still is (painfully now) KNOWN that what will halt our tier climb is coverage within that area.

On reset can we rain down some hell-spawned storm? Of course. Can we destroy through the weekend? Yes. But we also have lives, we also have jobs, and those obligations call at the expect time where we don’t have coverage (and this coming from someone that’s up til 5-7AM server time on weekends, 1AM server time on the week days in WvW). We bring the storm on weekends even though there are many server and guild events that run in cohesion (yay coordination) on the weekend. In this tier, we secure a healthy lead, and watch it bleed/die during the nights of the week when we can’t rock the coffee until 2 in the morning.

Does it suck? Yeah. Does it turn off a lot of people for whatever reason so that our primetime during the week is low? Yeah. Is it something we’ve had to experience lately? No, because though we got hit hard at night in all the tiers, we could get enough of a lead in the prime easily to negate those night gains.

Is their an alliance between the other servers and they work against us? Who the kitten cares? They play smart, they are opportunistic. The attack the path of least resistance first as to offer them a strong foundation to attack the competition. This isn’t an alliance, it’s intelligent play and I’d do the exact same thing. IoJ wants second, DH wants to minimize the SF threat. Their goals overlap and as such their actions appear coordinated even though they’re purely self serving. Don’t kitten about it in the forums, please.

Another subject: Skill. Don’t kittening bring it up please. I have fought many skilled that I respect both small and large scale. I’ve also fought many that I was like “omg too much glass shattering” on voice chat. We as a server need to understand our large group tactics, zergballing and such, is nothing to be proud of. Our experience near the end of our stay in T8 should have made that more apparent than anything. Instead of kittening about it, learn, adapt, and overcome.

I’m tired of these kittening complaints. We WANTED a fight. We WANTED to lose. We WANTED to be forced to see where we are weak. And yeah, it sucks that server transfer to our server is so steep and that oceanic crews are pretty much settled for the most part. The coverage gap is a kitten HARD problem to fix…. But even given all that, can you honestly say you haven’t been challenged? Can you honestly say you haven’t had epic fights? Isn’t this what we wanted?

I SERIOUSLY hope that we as a server can continue to HONOR the RESPECTFUL and APPRECIATIVE atmosphere that both DH and IoJ worked to create on our arrival here. Please do not kitten on my parade when it comes to this.

Keep up the good fights and (hopefully) the development and respectful atmosphere this match has provided (for all servers involved). I have nothing but love and respect for all of you on DH and IoJ. I have absolutely no problem taking my time to enjoy this.

A word of a true WvW player. I agree with you. We are here to fight and not whine.

I miss the T7 threads, where the trolls were decent, and everybody didn’t think holding hands and singing cumbaya was the way to go.

All we really got here is Zelthor and the random people from each server saying “guys place nice”….

FYI if anyone takes forum warring seriously you should go jump off a bridge…It is all in good fun, just like it is when you play Fantasy Football and trash talk….All of you that feel the need to get on here and moderate from a place of kitten are laughable.

The matchup is very fun, and the challenge is a nice change of pace.

Very nice video. I haven’t seen too many decent staff ele wvw video’s before. Most of them have been boring where X person sits on the back line or oriented around tower defense. It was nice to see someone a bit more aggressive even if you are an IoJ =P

To this thread in general. I don’t know what everyone is complaining about and quite frankly I don’t care. All I can say is I have enjoyed this match immensely (though reset is rough) and have had some memorable small scale battles specifically with SF. I can’t see names but I won’t forget the PVP guild anytime soon and I believe the other was ND. I’ve encountered more small scale coordination than any wvw I can remember (though I’ve been gone two months XD) and was pretty impressed with the small scale parties with the fore mentioned tags. Now while everyone is busy bragging about individual skill, I will comment on that too. I have not had any 1vs1 that I survived or died, that made me think wow….that player was amazing and all this “I’m a kitten” is rather irrelevant as one player does not win WvW nor is this spvp. Also this is the internet, anyone can talk and make up anything. Do like the quoted user and provide a video putting your skills on display for all the world to marvel at.

To see people from SF say " oh we dont care about the points" thats just silly… your amazing comback has been well documented and cheered for by all servers, its been great to see people pull them selves from the porta-john. But now that you have met some resistance your folks immediately go into the “Devona-we dont care about points-mode”

You do care about points, as does every server that has an active wvw base. This match up is being watched by almost everyone that plays gw2 as it is one of the closest battles the game has to offer at this point.

Having said that, lets not sully the awesomeness with cliche statements such as…

1) you only win because you zerg
2) we are better then you, but you out number us.
3) we dont care about points
4) Omg…ZoomHaven! (thanks for that one gab)
5) Onoes…we are being double teamed…and stuff

A lot of the time i see in map chat ‘IoJ cant win anything anymore’ ‘IoJ sucks now’ im sure it happens on all the servers, and to the people that are like that, take a step back and realise how hard all the people on your server are working to be where they are right now, instead of complaining, find ways to make your server better, contribute to the cause.

IoJ are a 3rd place server, even against DR we could rarely get 2nd place, now that our commanders and players are working overtime to actually get 2nd again, dont take that away from them by saying ‘oh we dont play for points’ thats just poor sportsmanship

I think there might be a smidge of sarcasm due to what we saw last week from [king] although ive been absent for the majority of this week so i could be wrong.

i do think the score is a lil closer because you guys tried to hit us a lil harder at reset when we are at our weakest. so you had a 17k lead ..thank goodness we were able to stay on track and pull a 10k lead by tues morning.

Tuesday night score update. Have had some awesome fights today, lots of SF zergs smashing up against southern towers and getting beat back by the stupendous tactics that are Darkhaven (it had NOTHING to do with the 10,000 arrow carts we had in there).

DH are u trying to get QL again? cause last 4 times u guys zerged it and got 2 walls down with 50+ ppl u all wiped vs 10 of us ;x, better get some moar next timez.

Holy hell, crazy fights in EB. Was holding all our towers at T3 for as long as we could for 14 hours. Manged to lose Durios due to being Outmanned and being double teamed by IoJ and DH……But we held off 40+ zergs with 10-15 consistently throughout the night. And the fact that we had 3 towers uncapped is impressive…took some good strategy, siege placement, and great players to pull that off….imagine if we could actually field numbers 24/7. I hope everyone else had fun. Hope to fight DH and IoJ again tomorrow. Good luck all

Woo! Finally succeeded in logging off. Took a rather long shift keeping eyes on Quentin Lake. Was very intense there for an hour or two. I’m glad that DH broke and went for IoJ. While the loot was exceptional, it was exhausting. It took me nearly an hour to fix up Quentin. Finding all the pieces was quite the challenge.

I think you guys take our comments of “reality” and read them as “blame”…Cap anything you guys want lol. Most the time people do not mean to come off as “whiny”, they are really just saying “hey this is what is happening”. Sure there are some obvious potshots in there most times, but usually just competitive nature flowing over.

SF isn’t whiny at all, at least not to each other….Our map chat isn’t full of QQing, it is usually full of people laughing or joking around, with the occasional “wtf alliance” jokes sprinkled in.

I think the only real issue that many of us on SF have, is that we get why DH would want to “work together” (for lack of a better term), but we do not see what the impetus is for IoJ. I mean good on you guys for getting 2nd place in T6, if that is your aim.

But realistically, had you been pressing DH more this week, and then owning us during the oceanic hours as you tend to do, then you in all likelihood could possibly be in 1st place or pressing DH for first place. As it stands now, in an odd way, this “alliance” (again using a terrible word to describe whatever it is), is benefiting SF in the sense that it keeps the match for 2nd pretty close.

That has been the talk/joke we have been having this week, is that for whatever reason, IoJ seems to be (I am guessing) unbeknownst to them, “cutting off their own nose, to spite their face”.

Say what you want about me or my server, but the reality is the only thing keeping IoJ for contending for the top spot, far as we can tell, is IoJ. Stark I think you were on to something at the first of this thread when you wanted to focus more on DH, but it seems as though your server disagreed (judging by your latter posts).
