I’m not saying they are “invisible”, I am saying they are somewhere nobody can see. Either its an ingenious placement, or its an illegal placement. So where is the screenshot? And yes, I am calling you out and accusing somebody on your server, whoever placed those carts, of violating the rules of WvW and the TOS. Ebay may as a server not condoned it, but you are willingly profiting from it. We fought inside the Lords room for almost half an hour and nobody in our zerg, an entire qued Server of us, could find those Arrow Carts. So, please. Show us how awesome you are. Where is this mythical arrow cart placement.

1st, you are asking for a screenshot showing arrow carts. Who honestly takes screenshots of every keep they are in? I mean that pretty self-absorbed.

2nd, in reading through this and many other posts in the forums, I distinctly remember many BP players saying that only EB zergs. Are you finally admitting that BP Zergs?

3rd, judging by all the keep flipping and bounties put out on EB mesmers, I would say that you and your teammates are not good at searching keeps for players let alone siege. Its very possible you just didn’t see it.

Please consider all of these things before posting inflammatory posts about how you died to arrow carts.

We know how to sweep keeps. Trust me, I made sure I saw every inch of the lords room before I came here. Consider me genuinely curious. I really want to know where this placement is inside Garrison, because its no place I have ever seen before.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, using skills in a unique way, i.e portaling behind keep walls and using portals to make golems move faster makes WvW infinitely more interesting than it would be without it. It adds a layer of stealth and tactics beyond “bring a zerg, set up 50 rams, make 25 golems, and throw down one arrow cart to cover you” to take a tower.

Do I care that people don’t like sweeping towers and keeps to make sure we’re not inside? Absolutely not. It’s not my job to make the game fun for you. Don’t want to lose a newly captured keep? Sweep it. Don’t like sweeping newly captured keeps? Lose it, or hope we’re not inside.

If anything, they never should have changed swirling winds. Certain classes should have skills that are useful to WvW beyond PvDooring down gates. Stealth and portals are two great examples.

TL;DR: Quit kittening about portals inside enemy bases, skills useful to WvW outside DPS are a good thing, and quit white knighting for AR/BP.

A mechanic properly designed should be fun for both sides. Swirling Winds duty was fun for nobody required to do it and often ended in a stalemate. Portals are really fun and neato, but they are only fun for one side. The counter-play is not fun and with proper mesmer parties even a 10 minute sweep can miss the mesmer spending most of their time in stealth.

Additionally what If I show myself intentionally as a mesmer, stealth, and then waypoint? Suddenly you have to sweep for 10 minutes with kitten knows how many people to find one single person or you risk the keep or tower being lost. Meanwhile they can be taking another keep/tower. If the BOTH the play and counter-play are not interesting it is an overall bad mechanic.

That’s the primary problem most people have with portals and stealth, and HAD with swirling winds. Essentially all of these things limit you down into a single uninteresting option to respond with. You counter portals in towers/keeps by sweeping, you counter swirling winds + counter siege with swirling winds and counter siege, you counter stealth by…well you don’t counter stealth against a good thief. Even stealth traps only really work on inexperienced or bad thieves that overplay their hand.

Now my memory of an hour ago may be foggy, but if this was when you guys first broke center inner + the wall next to it, the arrow carts were just kinda around the lord’s room.

If you’re referring to that big fight in lord’s where you had people building your own arrow carts on the big dome, then all of our arrow carts were despawned by then, except for an impromptu one here and there built fighting over the bridge.

You can’t post it on the forums, or you’ll get a ban for character assassination. I already sent in multiple screenshots of Kalkz doing it with his mesmer “buddy” who took off his guild tag. This happened like two weeks ago. All I got from the support was “we’ll look into it”. Feel free to believe what you like, BP has known glitchers.

In fact, a perfect example was when servers went down like 5 weeks ago, and BP capped hills in a matter of seconds, when we had just recapped it before servers went down. Considering there was no mesmer inside ofc due to the server kicking everyone out, BP clearly glitched inside.

Intentionally showing yourself as a mesmer and waypointing is called good strategy.

You think there’s no counters to swirling-winds/perma stealth because you aren’t thinking outside “better stick with the zerg and spam 1”. Wanna break up a swirling winds stalemate? Send over a mesmer and have him time a temporal curtain pull just as the shot is about to land, interrupting the eles winds. Or send over 5 guys and speed build an arrow cart to take them out. Or leave the eles and use them as a distraction while you attack some other target.

I’m obviously not going to give you tips on how to counter perma-stealthing mesmers, but let’s just say eBay won’t have a problem with that in any keeps I sweep. And that’s with a 5 minute sweep.

People complain about these things because they are easily noticeable (perma-stealth mesmers because I advertise it on the forums), but what about all the things that CAN and DO kill zergs but they don’t realize it? A guardian can lock down just about any staircase in a keep or tower with their various walls. Get enough guardians together and you can keep those walls up indefinitely. It’s an extremely effective strategy for killing zergs many times your size, but nobody complains about it. Why? Because in a zerg, nobody realizes why they’re dying while they spam 1-9, they just know that they died. Is this not fair? How are you supposed to get up the stairs without stability? There’s no other way to get through the walls.

If you want to run with the zerg, that’s fine, but realize there’s more to the game than that. Try to think outside the zerg.

TL;DR: Get creative. There’s a ton of counters for everything.

Arrow carts have been acting rather strangely anyway since the patch that buffed them a while back. I was the sole person defening Mendons against BP mere days after the buff, and had a cart literally poof from my very hands when struck with a ballista bolt from the peak of everyone’s favorite rocky outcropping outside the gate. No health drop, no typical cart “explosion” animation, it just faded out into nothing. When struck only once with formerly full health. I mentioned it in chat, and everyone asked, “did it despawn?” It shouldn’t have, I had just been and still was using it at the time.

I had pondered at the time if people had begun crafting anti-AC hacks since the buff, but brushed the notion aside rather quickly. As it’s not generally in my nature to think ill of others, nor jump to potentially unjust conclusions.

Shoutout to Skullclamp for being brutal as hell. Crazy tough opponent.

Oh hey! Did you fight a hume female mesmer while in there? Staff/sword+ bell focus (I think I was using a focus at that point and not 2x swords). Didn’t mean to “run” and roll through the door at the end. Didn’t even know it was there. I’ve never really fought between the gates like that.

In fact, a perfect example was when servers went down like 5 weeks ago, and BP capped hills in a matter of seconds, when we had just recapped it before servers went down. Considering there was no mesmer inside ofc due to the server kicking everyone out, BP clearly glitched inside.

The second item sounds fishy. Let me check my understanding of what happened. The servers went down, was that the BG servers or the world servers? How long were they down for?

Everyone was kicked: everyone ended up in Lion’s Arch or everyone was kicked out of the game?

What I want to get at is:
a) how do you know everyone was kicked? I have been in bgs where large numbers of players were kicked but not everyone.
b) how do you know everyone came up at the same time. Is it possible BP players were able to enter the BGs a few minutes before EB players?
c) Since Ebay had “just capped” hills, how do you know the “re-capping” wasn’t simply a roll back to before EBay had capped?
d) If it did happen in “seconds” then it would seem like someone would have had to hack there way into the lords room and then instantly kill everyone with a hack as well as solo player, even glitching thru walls, would not have enough time to run back, glitch thru, run to the lords room and kill everything in a matter of seconds. Is that sort of hacking even possible?

My memory of the incident was that it was a NA-wide WvW drop due to an upgrade patch being uploaded. It admittedly could have been “roll-back” related. As to my knowledge we really have no notion of just when the servers “save” their current settings prior to patch implementation. It could be seconds, it could conceivably be minutes (though one would certainly hope this is not the case). In which case it could just be chalked up to horrible luck on our end.

That “when does the pre-patch save occur?” is the key question that would need to be answered before anything could be proven or disproven conclusively. Who knows, maybe from now on, just prior to patch implementation we should all just meet somewhere and merely kick back for a few minutes. Seeing as it’s quite possible anything taken or retaken just minutes prior to the “big boot” may not even be accounted for.

The servers were down, i.e no one could log in. Everyone is kicked if the servers go down. No one should have been able to enter before one another, and even if they did, a few minutes would not have gotten them through the gates considering it was just flipped and cleared of previous siege. They didn’t claim a “roll-back” and I don’t they think ever have in WvW. Possibly, it happened before we could even reach Hills, which is impossible. Regardless, something “glitchy” happened and BP had a free keep.

I did and yeah, I couldn’t get out! I was stuck in constant combat, so I just laid down in there till hat one upscale attacked me and then you came in.

They are invisible of course that’s the only possible explanation. Surely you aren’t accusing ebay of something like this, when BP is known to glitch into towers/keeps?

You always say this yet I have never seen a screen shot or details of an actual instance from you or anyone else and I have never read of anyone else accusing BP of this. (Much less never heard of anyone on BP admitting to this or having knowledge of someone on BP doing this.)

You can’t post it on the forums, or you’ll get a ban for character assassination. I already sent in multiple screenshots of Kalkz doing it with his mesmer “buddy” who took off his guild tag. This happened like two weeks ago. All I got from the support was “we’ll look into it”. Feel free to believe what you like, BP has known glitchers.

In fact, a perfect example was when servers went down like 5 weeks ago, and BP capped hills in a matter of seconds, when we had just recapped it before servers went down. Considering there was no mesmer inside ofc due to the server kicking everyone out, BP clearly glitched inside.

I can’t speak to the Kaltz accusation, so i won’t.

The second item sounds fishy. Let me check my understanding of what happened. The servers went down, was that the BG servers or the world servers? How long were they down for?

Everyone was kicked: everyone ended up in Lion’s Arch or everyone was kicked out of the game?

What I want to get at is:
a) how do you know everyone was kicked? I have been in bgs where large numbers of players were kicked but not everyone.
b) how do you know everyone came up at the same time. Is it possible BP players were able to enter the BGs a few minutes before EB players?
c) Since Ebay had “just capped” hills, how do you know the “re-capping” wasn’t simply a roll back to before EBay had capped?
d) If it did happen in “seconds” then it would seem like someone would have had to hack there way into the lords room and then instantly kill everyone with a hack as well as solo player, even glitching thru walls, would not have enough time to run back, glitch thru, run to the lords room and kill everything in a matter of seconds. Is that sort of hacking even possible?

My memory of the incident was that it was a NA-wide WvW drop due to an upgrade patch being uploaded. It admittedly could have been “roll-back” related. As to my knowledge we really have no notion of just when the servers “save” their current settings prior to patch implementation. It could be seconds, it could conceivably be minutes (though one would certainly hope this is not the case). In which case it could just be chalked up to horrible luck on our end.

That “when does the pre-patch save occur?” is the key question that would need to be answered before anything could be proven or disproven conclusively. Who knows, maybe from now on, just prior to patch implementation we should all just meet somewhere and merely kick back for a few minutes. Seeing as it’s quite possible anything taken or retaken just minutes prior to the “big boot” may not even be accounted for.

The inner-workings and hidden mechanisms of the servers are a great mystery. The patching here is a little different than in other games I have played in that the patching seems to sometimes be a roll-over event for the servers and sometimes only for the clients. I know that I have gotten that little reboot countdown message and been kicked when the time expires, but I have also simply shut down and restarted my client when the message first comes up and gotten back in before the timer would have expired. I would love to know how it all works under the hood.
