I think there is a slightly thinner male Norn body that is not available to us. My Norn has the “skinniest” body there is but when I was leveling in Orr, I’ve seen a Norn who had even skinnier one. Don’t recall his name now, only that he had bow and wore medium armor and I saw him in Straits of Devastation.
No, no no no no… LESS HUMAN, what is the point of having a gigantic humanlike character? The idea behind is that they are a different species, they shouldn’t be more human.

But thats what norn are, massive humans. I think its right to have the female bodies just like scaled up versions of sturdy, well built human women. I also think that in general, the existing male bodies are right. Basically, they’re just massive human males but due to their culture have gone out of their way to be as big and strong as they can be, hence the massive muscular bodies.
Although most norn would be hulking giants, not all would be. For example, those that follow the teachings of the Snow Leopard or Raven. Teachings that do not encourage strength but cunning and wisdom and the like inatead. My problem is that there should be a body to repersent them, a body of a norn that has not spent all his time working out lol. Basically, just a scaled up well built human.

I think the skinniest male norn body is the representation of a norn who doesn’t spend all his time working out. because norn are naturally sturdier than human proportions.
I just wish their legs weren’t toothpicks. They all look like they skipped leg-day with their gorilla shoulders/neck and tiny legs

Yea, i think he’s the best example but his hips are just too wide. Its because his body uses the same skeleton as the larger norn but he should have the skeleton of the burly human (only scaled up). All imo ofc : )

Well, yes and no, lol. We are born with a skeleton shape but we can/do change it as we grow (by diet and working out, or lack there of).
Anyhow, Im not on about anatomical skeletons, I mean the models skeleton. : ) They could use the skeleton of the burly human (only scaled up) and attach all the norn animatioms and skins to that.

Seriously, the last thing we need is anime looking Norns. Let Norns be Norns and play skinny humans if you choose Vogue models to be your toon.

I’m all for being able to have more variety in the different models.
The current Norn male models are all really, really big. It’d been nice with something else, more healthy looking as well.
And I think the Norn Females are suffering from the opposite. Their models are too small, lol
I don’t care of the body looks, all I’m interested in is the animation of male norns. Etc… Running, swinging my 2h weapon style and shield wielding.
Pls give us more unique animation rather than having a big size figure but following how to humans move.

Male Norn are the epitome of masculinity in GW2 – we don’t need them coming closer to looking like some Human pretty-boy. I say keep them as they are – that is, as hulking man-mountains.

The problem is more than just the beard or the hairy chest (that yes, I do think they need, btw), or other cosmetic things (scars, please!!!). Is a base model problem.
I would espect norns to be more hulk-like (and I mean like The Hulk, from Marvel Comics). The Hulk is not only a “big human”: his body doesn’t have the same measures than a “normal” human body. When I play The Hulk in a video-game, I know I am not playing a human (my main is a norn, and I forgot that when first playing it: I just assume that the animals were too little. Even now, I feel like I am a human and the humans are halflings or hobbits!).
If you don’t want something that beefy, you can ask for the norns to be more “earth-elemental-like”, more slow, more wide… But it needs to convey their awesome strength just by seeing them!

Aye, I love the female bodies but always expected the males to look more muscular than they are! Love the Hulk idea, lets go with that.
I know there has been a lot of topics about the male/female bodies but just wanted to get a post for thoese who whould like to see a new male norn body. One slightly more human, with less widely spaced hips and a smaller neck/sholder. Maybe even get some feedback form a dev.

It’s impossible to craft a (male) Norn that does not look like a bloated, shaved gorilla toon. Crom’s demons they look awful.
I have a sword, a dagger, and an estimated life span of 2.47 seconds.
I like the male Norn bodies as they are, apart from a few things: One, when they idle, or run or whatever, their heads are too much forward – it’s like the spine’s bent at the end. Interestingly, they stand straight in cutscenes. Two, less spherical heads. It looks… odd. Three, NEVER SKIP LEG DAY. And finally four, which is more options, but that goes for everyone.

Yep, agree with OP. The male body is horrible. Actually, my biggest problem with both the male and female is that they look a bit too much like humans (females more so) in terms of features and skin tones. Otherwise, the male has awful proportions and needs to be scaled back some.
I wouldn’t want norn bodies with more human proportions any more than I’d want to see fantasy dwarves with human proportions.

I think they would be ok with a skeletal tweak, there is something wrong with how they stand, especially in the shoulder area / \ it’s like their arms are attached too low, and make many armors look very misplaced.
