Super Adventure Box gives me motion sickness

I think it’s just the style of graphics. Your eyes are used to sucking up a ton of graphic detail in GW2/on your comp screen and suddenly it’s sort of suffocating to be in relatively detail-less world. I do think it’s adorable, not knocking it, but I can understand how it might ruffle the visual center in some people’s head to have such a dramatic switch.
I honestly think this is a person to person thing. it’s not the game but the way your brain reads the information. might be a way to train your self not to focus so hard on every movement.
that’s why I believe it does not effect me. I take in the whole screen instead of focusing on one spot. this is as I perceive it to be.
if I spin I get sick and dizzy if I see something spin I do not. unless I start focusing on what’s spinning and my eyes follow then its possible
I can’t recall which title right now but I did play a game once that caused me to experience motion sickness in a bad way. I finally took Dramamine before playing and that helped. Eventually, I didn’t have to take it anymore so I don’t know if my brain got used to the game or what.
Taking medicine may not be appropriate for some (and may seem a bit extreme just to play a game) so you could try a more natural approach by taking ginger or peppermint instead and see if that helps with the nausea.
Aw man, that sucks, I so understand how that feels… I wasnt able to play Half Life 1 for the very same reason
Fortunately, SAB doesnt do that to me!
Same here HL1 made me sick as also got sick in Borderlands 1 too..
luckily SAB i’m fine.
In real life I get motion sickness when I try to read in a moving car. To the point where I refuse to read inside the car at all. However, I never get motion sickness when I play video games. In fact, I haven’t had a single game make me sick yet. The SAB doesn’t make me sick at all, which is fortunate. In fact, I can shake the screen violently with my mouse for 5 minutes straight, and still be perfectly fine. I keep my head very still when I play video games, because that’s how I concentrate. I play on a screen that’s 1920×1080, but I have also played on much lower resolution screens with no problem. The human brain is a mystery.
I am exactly the same. I can’t look at anything but the road when in a car, but I’ve never gotten motion sickness from video games. However, virtual roller coasters do make me very sick. For me, it’s the problem of my brain expecting my body to be moving based on visual cues when I am actually sitting still. The games that I play (such as GW2) are such that my brain is able to detach what I’m seeing from actual life. I suspect that a first person extremely realistic video game (graphics wise) might give me motion sickness though.
same I just finished playing 2 hours of it… i feel like i am going to vomit :’(
o god…
