Hard is fine, but the golems on stage 3 in the Frizz encounter are ridiculous. Continuous ongoing invulnerability with about one in 10 shots damaging them, might stacks and auto-attack pummeling, pulls/pushes, stuns from them and the environment.

Also known as the “kite the golems continuously through the lasers to trigger their special abilities” strategy. A highly popular tactic among groups competing for the most wipes in a row title.

Personally I prefer the “have everyone on the same side and kill the last two golems without dying” strategy although it sucks if you want to wipe.

You are assuming you have enough people alive at that point (an iffy proposition) and the right classes who can take the damage, the pulls and the stuns and keep moving oh and you still have to deal with multiple periods of invulnerability since the short laser triggers the invulnerability as well. But hey keep ignoring the fact that you really, really need to have at least 2 guardians, and a combination of mesmers and rangers to actually complete this encounter.

We completed it with Guardian, Warrior, Elementalist, Thief, Thief.

The key is to not get hit by the lasers. I know that sounds stupid, but that’s exactly the trick. See, it’s a throwback to a magical time in videogaming during which, in order to beat bosses, you had to learn patterns and react around them to survive. Necessary skills include adjusting your utilities to the fight (for this: stability, ranged resurrection, swiftness, and or invuln), watching the area around you, and the ability to dodge attacks.

Survival is key. Guardians are nice, but you certainly don’t need them, especially in multiples.

you need a guardian but if you have more than one then this dungeon is easy mode.

All is vain.

Yes, I assume that everyone are alive when the last phase starts.

1. All the previous phases are very easy.
2. If for some reason someone manages to get themselves killed earlier on, it is extremely easy to revive people in the second to last phase.

But hey keep ignoring the fact that you really, really need to have at least 2 guardians, and a combination of mesmers and rangers to actually complete this encounter.

The whole dungeon has been soloed by an elementalist.

Just did it and… kinda disappointed

Arah is hard. Arah has places outside of the Lupicus fight that can still down an entire team who just cruised through Lupicus without issue. The team of guildies I went in with were fairly casual and half of them were dead the entire rotating-shield golem fight. (which has its own cheesy issue needing fixed). Yet 4 of us were all first-timers to it, and we didn’t have a single Party-Wipe the whole time. That’s not what I’d call Hard…

  • Strikers may be OP but nothing compared to DeadEyes+TaserInquest so just spam CC, and they’re EZ PZ yo.
  • Rotating sheild part was only “hard” b/c HALF MY DPS was DEAD the whole time (iow: I’m a ranger … my pet didn’t follow me up on the boxes … wth is this crap Anet?? As if dungeons didn’t discriminate against us enough as it was already?)
  • people only die in the Rotating shield part, b/c the Golems constantly change aggro and “SHORTCUT” accross the room and then they decide to “Blitzcrank you” right into the fattest slowest moving parts of the shield that slowly grinds over you while you’re still stuck there knocked down … Why must getting Blitzcranked even knock us down in the first place then????? Either the AI should have been prevented from using that skill right in the center of the room, or it just shouldn’t be a knock down skill period.
  • Mai just has DHUUM levels of HP which needlessly draws out the fight to 15 minutes or more for a lot of decent but causal players. I had no problem tanking her and her fat friend AND her shadow steps too. We did that whole fight in one take and only 2 of our casual guildies ever ended up defeated (and I rez’d them easily while tanking the AOE’s)

Team make up was:

  • Ranger
  • Ranger
  • Engineer
  • Ele
  • Guardian
