Guild Wars 2

I have no idea what causes it but I’m 100% sure it is something in GW2 because as soon as I close it, the ridiculous noise stops. It’s only happened twice but both times in WvW.

What happens is:
1. All my game sounds stop
2. All the noise is replaced with a ridiculously obnoxious OOOoooOOOoooOOOoooOOOoooOOOoooOOOoooOOOoooOOOooo..

If anyone knows what causes it or how to stop it without exiting GW2, please let me know

I actually managed to get some proof. Ignore the video part of the video but you should quickly notice the sound…

I don’t know why there’s this massive gap ^, because there is literally no spaces between the video and this line.

After you listen to that video, imagine being forced to listen to that until you close your client completely and losing your spot in WvW.

Another interesting note about it is that the ingame volume controls have no effect on it for some bizarre reason.

This exact same sound happened to me yesterday during wvw when tons of players clashed and there were all kinds of different sounds going off at once, suddenly every sound just stopped and all i could hear was what you hear in your video, the only way to stop it was for me to restart my game.

Yeah I didn’t want to quit because I was with a group of friends so I ignored it for a bit, but after like 10 minutes it started giving me a headache.

Basically it’s your sound card/driver/whatever crashing.

Perhaps you ought not play when your submarine is diving? Really, though; I don’t know what to tell you.

It’s the games sound engine crashing. Every one I know encounters this during big events.

Am I the only one here who thought that was a Quaggan sound before looking at the video?

Same issue here occasionally in big WvW events.

Happened to me a few times in WvW. Since I have 1-5hour queues I just go into windows mixer options (bottom right corner of task bar) and manually set GW2 to 0 volume. You won’t have any game sound at all but at least the wooing will stop. Just put some music on and it’s no big deal.
