They do not currently have the tools in place to restore items and gear.
It is not a personal thing Valerant.
NO ONE can have their things restored, no matter their circumstance.
They are working on implementing such a tool but that doesn’t change the current situation which is not being able to restore items etc.
Will they be able to retroactively restore once its in place? Because about 8 golds worth of stuff is gone forever and it discourages me deeply after having played GW1 since its launch and never being hacked then now this…
I don’t believe it has been stated that they will definitely be able to retroactively restore accounts but it was at very least mentioned as a possibility once the tool is ready for them to use.
This is kinda amazing since about 90%+ of other mmos have a contingent plan in case a account issue occurs. I have almost lost all heart from this matter. Many hours of game play to grind all exotic gear and gold gone. As much as i appreciate arena net for being as fast as they could giving me back access to my stolen account.
Oh well maybe one day gw2 will get caught up.
Same thing here, seperate passwords for all, no keylogger ever found by malware bytes or norton (which I pay for/use/update constantly). Was online when it happened, I knew exactly what was going on, and clicked forgot password immediately only to find out that it, like so many other things wasn’t working. I was even told they would not refund my gem purchases. This game is broken, plain and simple. I’m giving them one more chance to refund my money otherwise I’m going to challenge it on my credit card. Arenanet should be ashamed of themselves and they know it. Or maybe they’re just so used to so many other companies acting this way, they just dont think they have to care.
hmmm they locked my thread about me being hacked saying I should contact customer support which I have already done. sweep me under the rug some more plz
also they emailed me a coockie cutter email with no help. thanks!!!

Ya it seems they are doing that to a lot of people. I remember another game that did that… what was it called… Sw.. SWT….. SWTOR! Thats right… that company did the same exact thing to people who voiced their concnerns. Guess it doesn’t matter because SWTOR did so well anyway… Chokes on laughter Sooner or later a company is going to “get it”. People will not stick around for this treatment.
Gaile can you please clarify. Will players who have already had their accounts hacked have the option to get a rollback. Or will it be only for people who get hacked after you implement the feature?… Or is that something that is currently being debated within the company?
