I waited the update and want to say it is very doable now. So ty Jeffrey for fixing this. Did it with no problem in bout 20 minutes, no deaths or anything. Only one minor bug report.

You changed the acolyte’s level and the ability to summon. This is what I withness as well. But they still say that they summon in the desctiption under the name.

Maybe polish that tidbit up within the next update

Glad it is fixed, much more in line with the rest of the mission now.

My mesmer finally got up to this mission in her personal story and it is doing something very strange. When I try to enter the instance, I get stuck at the loading screen. I then have to force quit the game and when I try and log back in on the same character, I get the error message saying the game cannot connect to the login server. I tried selecting another character after the loading screen freezing and I get in ok but it is only the mesmer who has login problems after the game freezing at the loading screen for Retribution. I’ve done this at least 7 times now and rebooted my machine but nothing works. Other players on my team have the same exact problem when trying to enter my mission.

I have two options at this point now: wait for Anet to fix this or possibly find another player that is on the same mission and join their instance. Until then, my character cannot progress at all on their personal story.

Tried this one after not having played for half a year. I remember finishing this quest with 2 chars before. It was hard, but doable. But now, with a lvl 60 guardian, I cannot even kill the first champion in the first part of the quest. He does heavy AOE damage to the NPCs, and despite of using symbol of faith and other heals I’m the only one left after about a minute or so.
Has this quest become even harder?

I’m having similar issues. I can’t even get to the beacons, the Champion guarding them downs all the NPCs that are supposed to be helping me. I can’t rez them, as then I get killed.

How are you supposed to beat this?

ETA: I’m using a level 66 ranger w/brown bear pet.

I’m currently stuck at the initial Champion Risen Plaguebearer also. I can take the whole peon NPCs dying, as Doern has some survivability while I shoot from a distance due to that insane PBAoE the Locusts seem to provide (they seem to leave me for last).

The thing that is annoying me is that he has a skill that makes him go walk-abouts on the platform, which sets up beautifully for the killer blow: HE LOSES AGGRO ALL THE TIME! “Hey I’m down to 45% with Doern on my face and some guy shooting me, I’ll step over here and… I have full health!”, and that’s only when he moves to lose aggro.

I’m on a level 78 thief (not well kitted out as I might as well wait for 80). This is a truly frustrating stalemate (he hasn’t killed me nor have I killed him), one blocking my progress severely. I wouldn’t normally mind, but with today’s dailies including Personal story & Krytan Killer I am somewhat more livid as I wanted to use this to edge towards 80.
