Hi everyone, i make it quick:
i made a new char and then brought it to quest “the orders of tyria” when you must decide wich order you will follow.
the i realized that i already did the path of whispers and wanted to reset my story so i can pick another order without making a totally new character.
could i do something like that? if yes, how?
thank for the help everyone. Ott.

is this somehting under consideration? my asura elementalist always felt like an outcast, and in a lapse of judgement decided to buck the trends and join the order of whispers. unfortunatly, he’s finding he doesn’t fit in there either and has realized he should have joined the priory. just like his mother always told him to. now, he has just abandoned his personal story; lost and alone in the world. it’s very sad really.

There aren’t any plans to do this right now. There are several issues with doing this—like the NPCs in the home instance changing, the ability to do contradicting story steps, etc. It’s the same reason we don’t have a way to allow a player to replay their story. (Or individual steps, since many allow you to change which steps come next.) Nothing is set in stone, of course, but as of this moment, we don’t have any plans to do this.

thanks for the quick reply. i wouldn’t mind it if the whole story reset back to the begining, so there would be no issues with forks…just a thought

It should be noted that you can still get Priory (or Vigil) gear for your asura through transmutation, if that’s what you’re looking for.

Also, I (and I am sure many others) would love being able to replay our personal story. Not to redo it, but just to play it once again (without being able to change anything: if I joined the Vigil, I will only be able to play that storyline). The ability to redo content over and over again (well, except for quests) was a great feature in the original Guild Wars series.

Being able to reset or replay the personal story would be interesting. I enjoy the quests that envolved Claw Island and I wouldn’t mind knowing I could go through them again.

As for resetting the personal story, why not just discard everything and go back to the last steps of character creation, where you choose backstory and stuff? It would reset all progress on the quest log at the hero panel and all changes at the home instance.

Here’s an idea: make it a gem store item – an “elixir of forgetfulness” or something. It would make it harder for peeps to restart their personal story by accident and also make sure that restarting it would not be a decision to be taken inconsequentially. Maybe we could also even have another gem store item that allows race change along with personal story reset.

i’m not personally interested in a race change, but i like that idea. “elixir of forgetfulness,” sounds perfect. it does seem like a nice fit for a gem store item.j

one can dream :P
