It would be nice if each major city has 1 free teleportation waypoint.

Yesterday I completed a couple quests for my story that used up around 2 silver in teleportation fees. The Char Tribune (Brimstone is his name I believe?) ordered my Char Guardian to complete a quest which required 50 copper to teleport one way from the Black Citadel to the area where the quest was located.

Upon completion of that quest, I then had to go back to the Black Citadel and report the findings to the Tribune, requiring a second 50 copper teleportation fee.

After reporting in, the Tribune sent my Guardian on yet another quest requiring 50 copper to teleport there and 50 copper to teleport back to the Tribune to report my findings. My Guardian was level 25 at the time and I believe he owned a total of about 15 silver. Those two quests alone took over 10% of my Char Guardian’s funds.

So far I’ve been very impressed with Guild Wars 2. However, I have to be honest the teleportation fees are a huge con for me. Especially when I die. Its bad enough my armor takes damage and needs to be repaired after death (which I have accepted and am ok with), but then there’s the double whammy of having to pay a fee in order to continue playing the game or just lay there dead waiting for an unknown amount of time until a kind player revives me.

I would like to see a free teleport location in each of the major cities. It just seems logical. Wouldn’t the Tribune have a way for his Legionnaires’ to quickly teleport to him at no cost to themselves? What kind of commander charges his subordinates to report in their findings? Just seems so bizarre and detracts from the game in my opinion. One free teleportation waypoint in each city would save so much hassle and I think would be greatly appreciated by the majority of the player base.

I do not remember any quest requiring to teleport to them. Just go to them on foot.

And transport between major cities is already free.

Cost of repairing armour is cheap, and there is no other death penalty.

If i remember correctly if you have no money on you(or not enough) when you die, teleporting to revive is free. Never run out of money myself, so i don’t know.

Exactly why there should be free WPs in all major cities. Forcing players to load Mists, LA and THEN Target City is pretty pointless. If nothing else, make the WPs in LA always be free.

I am fine with the current process of using the HoM route. It just adds a couple of loading screens.

I would like to see a free teleport to nearest waypoint upon death though. The double whammy of gear and waypoint isn’t fun. I take great strides to not have my character defeated but when it does happen not having to pay to get back up when no one is around would be nice.
