Sadly for me, I wasted 10 pristine relics for a duplicate ring.

I right clicked and equipped/soulbound it, and come to find that I can’t use both.

I’m not understanding why we can’t have two of the same rings if you have rings with duplicate stats anyways. I just wanted two of the red ring of death since it has a neat name.

Does the rings really need to be unique (a term I didn’t even know about till now, been playing since beta)? Hopefully you guys can take it into consideration, I’m saving my ring in hopes you change your mind.

i had no clue about it. i have only 1 ascended ring so far, and i took for granted you can have two identical rings since every tier in the game allow you to do so.

just a stupid silly question to get it out of the way, did you try to equip the ring manually on the other slot with no double click right?

Just get the other ring with EXACT same stats, but different infusion slot, beside it does say quite clearly in tooltip “Unique” is that word so ahrd to understand? and if you dont really know waht it means you could look it up on wiki or something. What did you expect that word means?

Sorry to read this. I ran into the “Unique” business when the “Lost Shores” event ended. I bought Gems with real money, converted them to Gold, and proceeded to buy 1,000 Karka shells on the Trading Post. All to be able to purchase a second Ancient Karka Shell. Only afterwards when trying to equip it did I find out I cannot. This was the first unique item in the game and it made me very angry.

At least they are never soul bound items. I’m not a fan of soul binding what so ever. The mechanism only exist to propagate the need for more and more from us. As if we do not spend enough time and money on this game as it is

I face the same problem too.
I admit I didn’t notice the world “unique” under the status. I know the word “unique” means, but it’s not quite clear to say that it means you can’t have the rings of same name both,is it? I know there has a definition about the word "unique"in the wiki, but i won’t read wiki every time when I buy something.
I just don’t understand why can’t give it a textbox and give us a hint before buying it that you can’t have the same rings ?
I spent many times to get the laurels. Finally I had 35, and it told me that i can’t equip it.
I’m very very mad.

I have a similar thread that describes this issue as well. I just ran into this problem. Would I assume that this is not going to be an issue that ANET will bother to fix? I did this with a months worth of laurels.
