Boon Power (New stat)
Honestly, I don’t quite like the idea.
Protection is already too powerful of a bunker boon. It literally makes or breaks a traditional “bunker” setup. Similarly, Might is easily the best damage boon in the game, giving 875 Power at 25 stacks.
And besides, how would you stack it? Most boons stack duration, so how would you stack those boons when you have different sources of them giving different amounts of it? Because that’s gonna add to the bandwidth load and that’s already the reason we have a condition stack cap.

You can always turn boons down to balance a new stat. I mean, balance can always be redone but conceptually this is a new stat that provides a new gearing strategy for players that doesn’t want to be the cookie cutter. Not everyone has fun being full zerk and doing exactly the same as the other 4 in your group in a team player role based game.
where is the role in mmorpg if everyone plays the SAME role? the game is turning very stupid lately

This is the main problem with the idea.
Currently, conditions (particularly the ones that do damage) apply different durations and damage based on the applier’s condition damage in real time. This creates the problem that requires the server to constantly update what each stack of a condition does so can only apply a certain number of stacks.
If boons worked in a similar fashion, it just complicates the bandwidth issue that conditions suffer from.
The only way around this is if you change the primary target of the stat, i.e. Boon Power regulates the effectiveness of boons on yourself. This would require extra bandwidth but only a set amount, same as armor calculations.

So essentially you want to nerf everyone for a possibility of a new role?
The thing is, it’s not going to work. Either it’s not powerful enough and you’ve nerfed everyone for no good reason or it’s too powerful and everyone got a significant boost.
Congratulations, your best case scenario means that running dungeons just got even faster and more exclusive.
Would be so impossible to balance.
