I put in a support ticket on this but was told it was better discussed here. I’ll get this started so others from AR might chime in.

On the Anvil Rock server, we just lost a large WvW guild (ALS), and it is having a dramatic impact on our game play experience. Case in point, since the reset on 6/21, the AR players are “outmanned” on both our BL and EB. Take a look at the WvW maps right now, Tuesday, 6/25, 1pm PDT. We are ticking 55 pts….yes, 55. We have nothing on our BL and are about to lose everything on EB. This is a direct result of being paired with servers with far higher WvW populations than ours, which has been the case for 4+ months, but it just got a whole lot worse with the loss of such a large guild.

I would like to ask that Anet do a review of WvW (not overall server) populations and consider a one-time “re-ranking”. Without this, we will need to wait for the automated ranking system to take enough points away from us that it automatically moves us down, and that could take many weeks. In that time, the exodus from the server could make the problem even worse (assuming players don’t just quit the game altogether).

Doesn’t really matter, the matchup system doesn’t go by ranking anymore.
