Contested Waypoints Need to Go
But why is this a problem?
Or rather, why would you sacrifice completely logical lore to the minimal convenience of being able to teleport into a giant enemy group and dieing instantly?
I see your posts in the other threads too, if I had to give you an advise I’d say it is to stop grinding Orr for a day or two to get some distance. Or, to simply group up, like the rest of us. It works mighty fine, and it makes you not care in the slightest about all of this.
As for the event yesterday, don’t go through a giant group of Karka alone. It took me literally 10 seconds to have a group of 3 players. Randomly picked up from the respawning ones, then we ran together. You mostly don’t even need to ask anyone, while players are usually too lazy to start inviting themselves, they know it’s smarter to accept a group, for tagging reasons if nothing else (this applies to Orr too, and another reason why you always want to be grouped for it no matter the specific circumstances).
Is it really that big a deal for you that you might have to encounter other players?
That content might ask you to do what the genre of game is all about?
The whole contested waypoints are part of something called “atmosphere”. Sure you can take them away for convenience, yes.
The point I’m trying to make here is, there is no sensible reason why you’d want to change the wayponts. Cursed Shore has been overrun, the undead are in control. Everyone immediately and instinctively understands this. We have to take control back. This makes sense.
What would not make sense is if the game tried to tell me “Oh, the ebil ebil undead took over the zone!”, and yet I can go about my business unchallenged. That’s a facebook game, not a proper game, sorry.
You seem to assume a lot from my post about me playing alone and grinding Orr constantly, neither of which I do.
Ergo the rest of your post is pretty much off the mark.
Ok, then I can save myself all of that above and just chime in: No, it wouldn’t make sense to make you able to teleport to/near contested waypoints. Makes no sense gameplay wise, makes no sense lore wise, just makes no sense.
Just serves as convenience to players who are neither interested in the lore nor the gameplay. The latter implies that they should play something they’re interested in.
That’s rubbish too.
The problem is that it takes far too long to get to events because all of the waypoints in a zone are contested.
Why is it against the lore? If all of the waypoints are contested, why doesn’t someone set up a secondary? You still lose access to the merchants, karma vendors and whatnot, just put a waypoint somewhere reasonably close by rather than forcing players to start at the other side of the map and miss timed events that only happen once or twice a day.
It’s not a big ask, and it’s certainly not the game breaking catastrophe that you’re making it out to be.
