Death and dying (and paying, paying, paying ...)
1) and 2) death is not as expensive as you make it seem. Hell, i barely have any coin (literally less than a gold, and im level 77) and i find the prices reasonable for both waypoint teleports AND armour repairs.
3) penalising people for not helping out would easily make rezing the worst aspect of the game. there is no need to penalise people for not rezzing someone.
4) most NPCs won’t res you because it’s not in their code and they’ll be too busy fighting enemies anyway, the ones that are actually soldiers, the rest being farmers and whatnot don’t have the capability of ressing you anyway. i’ve only seen a couple of npcs res, all of them in personal story lines.
Well, I’m 80th, and it’s too high. Wait until you get here and start shelling out 5-6 silver for each death.
So, what’s your solution for people refusing to rez others? You won’t think so lightly of it when you get a little more experience and have to start paying through the nose.
If they are near my dead body, then they probably killed the creature that killed me. So, they know how to fight, and therefore should know how to rez. In fact, many WILL rez — other NPCs. Just not humans, despite them perhaps being stacked on top of the NPC bodies they’re rezzing.

After one death very recently, i paid 9 silver to repair the damage on a single piece of armour. And i’m not complaining.
About people refusing to rez others, I have run into the situation a very many times, too many to count. And i dont care. I’m the one who died, why force someone else to res me for MY mistake?
also i’ve run into the problem where there are NPC bodies stacked on top of the player im trying to res. And it’s friggin difficult to choose which person you res. It was funny because i was trying to res a norn that had a human hunter stacked on top and the mouse went all funny and the f key decided to res the human first.
1) I don’t find it very expensive, I get atleast 20-30 silver after I filled my bags and sold them. I rarely die once per merchant visit but if I do I have still earned more than I lost.
2) You don’t have to repair after each death, your armor will get damaged the first times and then broken, that’s why you must iether wait for rez or return to a waypoint and also repair your armor.
3) I realy love the Rez system compared to other MMO’s where healing classes can ressurect but they will rarely do since it won’t matter.
But in this game there is an upper hand, if you rez a downed player you get exp and maby he/she can help you out fighting what was killing him/her.
So if someone does not rez you, whatever wait for someone else or return to waypoint in another MMO you would have to return to rez point and start all over again.
4) I dunno, it’s hard to program NPC’s to do exactly what you wan’t… One time you would have wanted them to rez you or the other time it would have been best if they killed the enemby with low HP.
5) You are level 80, then you should know that a decent armor piece is worth around 1g at BTC or 42k Karma.
I don’t know about you but I put all but 30s in bank before I go out in field and if and these times I have died I have almost always repaired ASAP and never though about I don’t have enough money…
Times I could have problems with it is if I am up against a regional boss and die alot, that happened to me fighting at the Baltazar shrine, but hey you are not supposed to go get killed five times in a row, I did something wrong.

The waypoints could use a price drop or cap so they dont get to costly at higher levels(or at least make the nearest uncontested one alot cheaper) but i expect to pay more for repairs the better the gear due to it being abit tougher for the repairer to find materials.
I die…a lot, and never had a money problem.
It’d be nice if the closest waypoint was free when you died.
The only time I see it as unfair is if Im with an idiot that won’t revive and won’t attack the enemy Im attacking that has almost no health, but enough to where I can’t rally on my own. I used to not care about repairing and WP, but lately its been rediculous, I think its averages to about 6 out of 10 times that people won’t bother reviving me(when its clearly safe too) or being even remotely concerned about other players, so the cost have been a bit more than what Im used to paying.
Im fine with the current system, but the players are where the problem is at. I don’t think things need changed because people are inconsiderate, it’s just one of the unfortunate things that happens because of it.

i agree, then they finish it and still dont rez, or when your fighting and some1 lures 8+ enemies from behind thats NOT fair, but thats the community of this game sadly. theres a few who help, but many who just wanna see some1 rage, cus they failed something just b4.
To give a more specific example, I like attempting to 2v1 up to 4vs1, just to spot patterns in peoples behavior that give clues to who I can take on, I take note of passives, armor, yadda yadda. But in this one instance, I mangaged to down 1 and get the other to 1/2 health before being downed myself. Thats when I can count on my fellow unfortunately unintelligent player to come along. The guy doesn’t bother attacking the downed player, instead he goes straight for the other, the enemy pair finishes me off, and then proceeds to take down the other player while both of them started at low health and were distracted.
Anyways getting back on topic, Ive probably lost a good amount repairing and using WP due to other players actions and I sure wouldn’t mind seeing the prices drop, but I don’t care if they stay the same either.
For me, it’s not that the penalty is necessarily too much. I actually think that the penalties themselves are fine. There’s just too many of them. You pay for repairs AND warping AND a downed penalty AND backtracking (because you had to warp).
I think it would be a good idea to up repair costs so that your fee stays the same, then make the warp free. It just feels bad, because it’s all this stuff separately hitting you. If it was just a repair bill, then it wouldn’t hurt so bad.
due to the number of bots that have swarmed this game, I no longer help nor rez anyone without them vocalizing a request for help/rez. Sorry but until Anet gets off its kitten this will remain my personal policy. Besides if you want MY help its really not asking a whole lot to get a plz help and ty.
As for the cost of WP, yes it ridiculous. I am at like 174/175 explorer for a zone and mapping all over trying to find what little spot I haven’t cleared the FoW from to get the achievement and I’ve spent half a gold before I know it and still have to keep spending cause I can’t find what I have missed.
I’m okay with spending 5-6s to cross from Orr to Ascalon, its long distance, I expect that, but over a silver just to get to the next closest WP on the same map? Dumb.

As a general rule I will rez almost anyone if it isn’t going to get me killed 1st, in that case i kill the enemy then rez. I don’t think the current rates that are being charged for WP travel are remotely fare (2+s to a WP i can see on my mini map is absurd) should be based on distance and not level. But until they change that we all stuck with it. I find a few people now and then that run past your corpse and thats fine, it will come back around to them. When others take the time to help rez it’s saves you coins and now you get help getting to or finishing whatever you were trying to do to start with. Which in turn benefits everyone. So take/give the free cheap help or be the lone idiot. I remember who runs on past me or wants to troll.

I do the same thing and would advise everyone else to do so, this may show Anet that it is fine to lower the cost of repair and WP.
