Does anyone else miss the ritualist?
Yeah I used to have an amazing Ritual Lord Healer/Support Ritualist. Was by far one of my most favorite to play, besides my Keystone Mesmer of course. Even playing them as a Splinter Barrage Ritualist was awesome just to watch how they shoot a bow.
Would love to see the Ritualist again in GW2 and how they do it with the new playstyle.

I’ll confess that I did enjoy my rit, even the spirit spam solo farm. I also liked rit healing, and nuking. My favorite was using a Spirit’s Strength build with a bow or melee weapon — in those few areas where there was not any enchantment removal. I even used it in AB a few times. The class was flat out fun. I’d love to see a GW2 version, except for the spirit part, as GW2 and pets of any sort don’t mix all that well.
Thing I miss most about my Ritualist was his dance. OvO
I definitely miss ritualist. I think in GW2 this class would have a great potential. Summoning spirits + buffing the team with spirit weapons – that would be great. Maybe if they bring Cantha back one day?
GW2 Mesmer = GW1 Ritualist
Illusionary Defense = Armor of Unfeeling
Phantasmal Healing = Recuperation
Persisting Images = Spawning Power
etc.
Granted game mechanics themselves are different, some skills are traits and some traits are attributes, but the general concept of spirit spam got integrated inside mesmer already.
Did i like playing my rit sure it was fun but do i miss it no . As for bringing them back i dont see it happening anytime soon .
1 ) it was strictly a Canthan class
2 ) there is still a lot of tyria to be opened up
3 ) many of its mechanics have been moved to other classes
4 ) not only has Cantha gone isolationist again but the DSD kinda creates an issue too .
Ritualists will come again in some form, you can’t expect everything at once… as for the concept of Ritualist being taken by the introduction of the new mesmer mechanics, I surpose you could argue this however there are some interesting threads on what people expect the Rt to be like when they do arrive.
Especially nice how people are involving the lore of the current game and the effect it has on the Rt ie. their connection with the spirit world has been lost, they now project their own spirit force into battle <—- Pretty nice idea if you ask me.

The napolean dynamite dance was freakn awesome
Asura Mesmer – Fort Aspenwood
I do miss the ritualist, my go-to profession for hunting bosses for their unique green items (which I enjoyed collecting and the pursuit of which offered many hours of fun) but at the same time I fear that it would not translate well into GW2. GW2 professions, I feel, lack the versatility of the originals. I rarely made use of pets on my GW1 rangers, for example, and never missed them – but here, well…
So who knows what would happen to ritualists if they were brought forward into GW2. I figure they’d probably take the aspects I liked least and make that the whole point of the updated profession. ;-)
I definitely miss the Ritualist. It’s interesting that the GW2 Mesmer is considered its parallel by some. I feel like the Engineer takes its place, in someways. The Engineer uses the turrets, which replace the spirits. Of course, the weapon spells employed by the Ritualist are now used by the Guardian. Its legacy is still in the game, just splintered among other professions.
I desperately miss ritualists. I know guardian/Mesmer/engi are supposed to have taken over their play style, but its not the same. I want my Rit back.
