Hello,

I would like to suggest a general overhaul to the itemization…it’s one of the few things in the game that just seems way off. I know there are numerous threads where people complain about getting nothing for killing a Champion, etc…and I have to agree that it’s a little underwhelming.

I’d like to suggest a system where “trash” mobs…or the most basic mobs…only drop white gear, salvage stuff, rare crafting mats, and vendor trash…with a very slight chance to drop a blue item.

Veterans should have a very high chance to drop a blue item, with a slight chance to drop a green.

And Champions should ALWAYS drop at least a blue, with a high chance for a green and a slight chance for a yellow.

Perhaps, all of those move up one tier around level 60, so that Champions have a slight chance to drop Exotics.

As it stands now…even I just skip Champion mobs that aren’t a part of an event, and I tend to be someone that likes to fight for the fun of it. But it’s so disappointing to fight for ten or fifteen minutes and get a tooth, right after AoEing trash mobs in an event for 5 minutes and getting 5 or 6 blues and greens.

If we lose the conditioning that trash mobs give blues, greens, and even yellows, then we can seek out and have a reason to kill Champions…even hunt them down. I know you don’t want people to “farm” champion mobs…but how is that different from farming normal mobs? The DR on loot can still kick in if someone kills a champion more than once in a row or something.

This will probably also help the flood of items in the game…since there will be far fewer drops…even if people do farm Champions. Right now garbage mobs drop items up the wazoo! Heh.

This would create the opposite problem, where people would just ignore normal mobs and farm the champions.

Uh…except it’s sort of hard to avoid normal mobs…haha. They’re on the way to the Champions, they’re in every event, and you’d still need to kill a million for crafting materials. I don’t really think that’s an issue. :-)

Hard to avoid mobs? Sorry, I’m an Elementalist and I got no idea what you mean by that.
And yeah, I sometimes do world event chains alone for fun. The kinds with champion bosses in the end.
Anyways. I want trashmobs to have the change to give whatever. Thats whats magic find is for. I love magic find. <3

I don’t like this idea at all. There already isn’t a whole lot of incentive to kill regular enemies because they don’t give very much experience, and most of the time, you can just outrun them. Veterans and champions aren’t terribly common. I don’t want to have to rely on them to get decent drops.

I would like it if these guys drop something special, something above the norm. Not really blues or greens, per se, that would just make them too sought after, like others have pointed out.

My only qualm is, these are the tough guys of the world, and they mostly have normal drops, nothing special. I really don’t want them to drop something awesome, but at least something that will make me think “oooh, what am I going to get”. I’m not sure what to suggest though. :/
