Players are abusing the loophole that lets them play through a dungeon on their level 80 and then swap over to their alt that they’re leveling for easy exp.

This should be fixed because I’m certain this was not the intent of the devs and it’s annoying to other players.

I am on the fence with this one as you have made the effort and played through the dungeon whats the issue if u switch charcters at the end?

I think the QQ is that the dungeons will allow ANY level into them but will scale any level above the dungeon down.

Ex. Take a level 80 through and swap to a level 2 or 3 to power level the alt.

I could care less about it because it isn’t hurting me any. If they want to power level, so be it. It is not like they will face-roll the lower areas because of down-scaling.

Odds are that they are doing this to level up alt professions that are a pain to play in the beginning (mesmers and engineers for me) but can become fun to play after level 30-40.

My official stance: Whoop-tie-do. They aren’t hurting my gaming experience none.

This game is so easy to level to 80. If you really hardcore push in this game, you could do it in a few days. Casually it only takes a few weeks at best.

This method of power leveling an alt seems slow and silly to me, and in the long run, who cares if they level another toon this way to 80. What will they gain by doing so? Or more importantly, how is this negatively impacting you if they do it?

It slows down the dungeon and increases the risk of a wipe as they switch. I’ve been in a few dungeon runs and 2-3 people switched to do that leaving damage output very low. In one run against Subject Alpha, we almost wiped but got lucky when he glitched and stopped attacking.

See my response above. It does hurt the gaming experience and negatively impact those who don’t do it.

Ah, yes, on PuG runs, yes, this isn’t cool. This is also why I’m in a small guild of close people who has alliances with other small guilds that we can rely on.

If one of us wanted to do this on a dungeon run, we would ask ahead of time (none of us have done this, but in other games, we’ve power-leveled alts, and it’s always asked before assuming the rest of the group is okay with it).
