As of now, ground targeting game play is inconvenient during circumstances like, activating on uneven terrain and slopes. Skill activation time is greatened while judging how far out a player can place a skill, before the target-marker changes to red. This mechanic brings the players awareness back to out-of-game factors, like mouse speed, terrain, or camera angle. I feel it reduces the experience of using such skills.

I want to suggest giving the ground targeting, an automatic limit. Meaning a player could click on the skill, move the mouse outwards, and the target-marker would stop at the limit radius. Moving the mouse further out would not cause the marker to continue into the “red”. Moving the mouse left or right from there would cause the target marker to follow within the radius only, staying green. If it is possible to implement, the option could be under general settings. I think it will open the floodgates for players who normally would not play ground-target friendly, professions.

Anyways, as a staff Elementalist, I think this is fantastic idea.
I’m trying to throw some snare spells in the general direction of enemy zerg when we are retreating, to slow them down a bit, and I always end up clicking several times just to make it happen.

I quite like this idea, there isn’t much that can be done to improve casting speed for things inside your casting radius outside of having it place on your target by default but your idea would certainly be a great quality of life improvement.
