More buyable skins in the store. It’s sad to have to say that Arena.net’s money-grubbing is absolutely shameless (see my comment about Tixx cog’s later on)…but it is absolutely shameful. Yet the one place where you really could make “honest” money is by selling weapon / armor skins in the Gem store….and you don’t? (And I’m sorry, even though I know a few people undoubtedly bought the chef outfit…it doesn’t really count does it?) I don’t mind if the skin I buy is only for the toon that I buy it for and no one else on the account.
A toon-based personal bank would be so handy. The shared bank is good but isn’t really good for storage.
Speaking of skins and storage. How about a costume locker to save our skins? I buy a suit and instead of having to save it in the shared bank (more shameless money-grubbing) it goes into a “remembered” closet that I can then pull from any time I want to swap my looks. Check out how The Secret World does it. It’s toon-based rather than account-based and works great. I don’t mind buying the same item for each character.
Why are all the female characters given the option of wearing a full suit or bra-and-panties (or some other variation on the “kitten” look)…but male characters are only layers and layers and layers and layers. Some of us men like to run around nearly naked too! And some women (and other men) like to look at nearly naken men. Just because the designers and programmers seem to be sexually inactive and uptight doesn’t mean the rest of the world is.
Build swapping. This game has (as far as I can tell) 3 basic modes: PvE, Dungeon, and PvP / WvW. And it seems that each one has a need for a different set of skills / traits. Please give us the ability to set up three different skill sets, one for each. Then we can easily swap out the skill set we want to use instead of bogging down the game to stop, pull up the H sheet, and make the changes one-by-one.
Regarding money grubbing. You will make money by giving us a reason to play and spend money. You lose money by being BLATANTLY OBVIOUS in your money grubbing. Look at the Tixx cogs. What a fun idea…go in, do the dungeon, win, and get the stuff to make the toy of the day. Except what did you do? You didn’t award us enough cogs to make all the toys. That’s unforgivable enough, but what else did you do? You made each toy cost 250 cogs, and then you only gave us 950! We can make 3 and then have 200 left! We’re 50 cogs short of making the 4th toy, there’s no way to get more, no way to make the other 2 toys! Who thought that THAT was a good idea?
Mini-me. So you have town clothes, which is a completely silly thing. So how about a mini…me. Equally silly. Not too hard to do, I would think.
Speaking of those minis and pets. I get that you want to reward people who played GW1 by giving them goodies. But it really is an insult in a “collections” game to punish players by putting in things that they cannot possibly get. (See: money grubbing). There are numerous pets and minis that we non-GW1 folk cannot get..ever. The correct thing to do is to give them to the GW1 folks instantly but make us non-GW1 folk earn them! It’s a game about questing…give us some quests!
That’s about all I have for this go around. Time to find that one POI I’m missing…
