How Guild Wars 2 Could Improve!
No, make Mercenaries and Heroes, as in the old. Yesterday came to the city, and there the speakers are turned, the battle of 10 against me alone.
I would definitely have to agree with Shade as well, i like the idea level scaling in that you can go anywhere and are still able to be killed, however i just read that they are making it even more balanced so that your stats will be closer to the level you have been scaled down to, the way i see it if a level 80 in a 40 area has the same stats they had at level 40, then why even have a leveling system? it sorta makes leveling pointless, when I’m 80 and go back to a level 25 area i should feel like I’m able to go through it pretty easily, it doesn’t have to be a 1 shot kill for everything in sight, but if you take away the difference between higher level and lower level than you might as well do away with the whole system and then the game really does become dependent on gear, which is no longer the GW2 so many of us know and love, gear is a nice thing to shoot for, but really the point of GW2 is to simply have fun with whatever you happen to be doing at the time.
Sod all such suggestions for ‘improvements’ and just make the basics of the game WORK PROPERLY F F S! And you could start with sorting out the stupid game breaking right mouse button funtionality as per the thread linked below:

Ok…I’m going to put the record on again. Level scaling makes gaining levels in general irrelevant. Why have levels at all if you engage in level scaling? It makes no difference if you are level 1 or 80 if, when you enter differing regions, your character automatically becomes the level corresponding to that region. There is no sense of your power level when scaling is used. if you are level 50 then you are level 50 period….regardless of what area of the world you are visiting. The whole concept is utterly laughable to think your level changes not because you have gained experience, but rather you have stepped across some imaginary boundary between geographical regions. The whole concept of level scaling is completely absurd and has no logical use in a game.

You still don’t explain how it improves the game. You’ve just rattled off reasons why it is illogical.

Logic aside, it’s to prevent griefing of events, allows all content to be relevant and allow lower level players a shot at events appropriate to their level without a bunch of level 80’s coming in and destroying everything. How is this a bad thing exactly?
As is, you are more powerful as a scaled down from level 80 to level 40 than a genuine level 40:
- Better Armour and Weapons.
- Access to more Traits.
- Access to more areas of the game.

I am against level scaling either way..up or down. Your level should be your level…period. No adjustments. OMG…If I hear the grieving argument one more time….that is a whiners excuse. The fact that some higher level players harass lower level players is irrelevant (and no I don’t condone this activity…but don’t punish the many for the actions of a few). Move on to another area and come back to where the bullies were later. Problem solved. Removing scaling gives a greater sense of reality to the game, gives the player a sense of his TRUE power (not just a “scaled down 40 from an 80”). There should be no challenge to something you have already completed 20 levels ago…LOL. Access to your FULL power should be available in ALL areas of the game period. Again, as I said, level scaling renders gaining levels irrelevant. There is no point to levels if scaling is present.

I agree with you. Now accounts for a long-awaited, when the character becomes the same level as the territory. This greatly hinders the game!
It would be good if the enemy level reduced to the level of your character.

But this is half the battle.
Very often, the enemies in PVE, have groups or many. It is a problem for the solo.
Because of problems with the language (writing through translator), I can not create a squad of players! In the old game, I can easily play with Heroes and Mercenaries.
In the old game, the characters and the presence of mercenaries, not hurt you to create groups of players. From what fright ArenaNET, agreed that there are a hindrance?
In the caves, after a hard enough level to go there only to them. It just needed units of the players. In the dynamic and other events, they are not a hindrance.
If I have Heroes and Mercenaries, this does not mean that I run past the player who needs help. I’ll help him.

Scaling works, it makes exploring the world as a lvl 80 not as boring, if you one shot noob mobs and got noob experience, what would be the point in doing the events? How would you level outside of lvl 80 areas, do you even 80 bro?
@laurakroftrus Mercenaries would be cool in instances like with Rox and Braham but you agreed with shade so you’re already wrong. Those are the facts…. Period……..!!!
Only thing guild wars 2 that is wrong in my opinion is legendaries and various other grind to get stuff.
Makes people from being helpful working together people who want to explore the world, into antisocial greedy people who crave money every second and arent aware of the work the artists of this game slaved into making behind dungeon walls.
I have 490g all from having fun i never do something just for gold i do it for fun as well the gold just adds extra excitement.
I like that you have to grind to get legendaries.
I don’t have any and don’t think I ever will unless I put my mind to it but I extremely like to see them on the black lions trading because its like this higher thing and you thinking about having it is even better. And then when you see people have legendaries you know they worked a-lot to grind for it.
If the game added what you say about dungeons that drop better gear each time, then I’ll stop playing this game.
I don’t play traditional MMO’s because I don’t want to spend ages to get the gear that I need to actually do ALL of the content. Notice I didn’t say competitive. Just the ability to actually do the content and with enough skill, complete.
I’m wary of fulfilling the end of an agreement with a friend that if they tried GW2 during the free trial weekend back in November, that I would give WoW an honest try. Because I won’t be able to try everything the game has to offer, even if I wanted to. Because I won’t have the gear or the level required to do it. With GW2, a newly created character can do 95% of the content types. They can fight mobs. They can do DE’s. They can do hearts. They can PvP. They can go to WvW. The only general type of thing they can’t do is dungeons. Unless they come in during an event that has a dungeon that even newly created characters can do like the Mad King event back in October.
So why dont they just hand over the legendaries?

The world dragons are way to easy. I mean they look absoluutly stunning but they should be fearsome as well. not this easy. i dont get the forfillment when i kill one of these. i just wait for the drops and see greens and blue’s plus one rare.
Noone cares about the dragons or write about it.
Its there for getting a maybe precursor that is about it. no real enjoyment of killing it.
Even my little nephew can kill it. he just spams number 1 and its killed
Hopefully it will get beter and we see some epic fights with the dragons.
I like this game but there should be some kind of rewards. and who does p3 of cof anyone? it takes to much time and gives little to no extra rewards. this is why people dont do it. and why it is bad game design. iam sorry it has to be said. like loads of me write as well they dont need to change alot to make it tons beter as it is now.

@ Wookalar, WoW didn’t invent all the rich features it has, it took features and made them better, or added to them. When WoW had /lfg people wanted a group finder, it took them a long time to actually put it in, but they did eventually do it.
People wanted LFG/D/R – No one wants to jump on with 2 hours to play and spend an hour of that finding a group.
Information about monster abilities was made by Blizzard? Strange, I remember this way back with pnp, hell even Poke mon has something like this I think.
I am not 100% sure on this, but I think WoW is also going to use scaling pvp and perhaps jumping puzzles? Does that make WoW GW2? If so then all those features would be a great addition to this game, again.
Dude he never said anything about adopting features = a bad thing. It’s the gear grind idea that is a turn off cause that goes completely against the GW philosophy. Every game needs to have some kind of uniqueness attached to it and the GW franchise has always been “no gear grind”.
You do realise that ascended items are “gear grind”. They are statwise superior items compared to exotics, and to aquire them you have to do easy repetitive things daily, aka grind nowdays. Same goes for cosmetics, you have to grind them in GW 2, and not a little grind like in GW 1, GW 2 requires obscene ammounts of grind for them just because how the loot system works, and that farming or gathering a specific item for a prolonged period of time is discouraged.
Ascended gear are very easy to get. If you hit lvl10 in Fotm you have a great chance to get a ring or for some kind. you could have like in a week anough rings for almost all your alts. plus the dailies and monthlies give you anough for the neckpiece. the backpiece will be more of a grind. rest not so.
