Solo everything.
Or Anet can add more variation or abilities to the mobs/bosses in events to make it harder. There was a champion centaur event somewhere in the Harathi Highlands that was pretty challenging because he used a number of different abilities and even if you tried to hit him from range he summoned these small tornados that would knock down and had a nasty AOE.
Some other events that SHOULD be challenging like the Shatterer for example, which I posted about already, is fun but far too easy to beat.
I agree we need more challenging events, that take a bit more coordination. For example, an encounter where you need damage spread out evenly and/or protect 2 or more points for damage to even be done to the boss, and these points are under constant siege.
My favorite Event Chain is the Temple of Lyssa. Having to capture and control those 3 points requires some coordination of leaving some people behind to defend, especially when you are off peak hours and you don’t have massive numbers of participants to play with. Grenth is also another good one, for if you don’t have good shade control you will all die.
More events like this with perhaps a higher reward or increased difficulty would be nice, but lets also keep in mind this is only release and im sure they have alot of content being developed. After all, they are going to rely on quicker expansions rather than subscription fee as a source of income.
It’s hard to buff up the difficulty in events where very many can participate. It either becomes too high HP to kill which means longer fights, or too strong which means people will probably get insta-killed and not bother with it anymore. In some events, the boss really is strong and almost two hits you if he targets you or does an AoE. I’ve had to constantly revive people during some battles as well. It’s an issue that doesn’t really have a proper method to solve for now I guess.

The problem is that the events need to scale. I agree that there is some lack of variety but I’m not sure how they can tackle it considering events need to be able to be completed by 2 people or by 20.
The problem is if too many players occure in those events… You have to be kind of lucky to get the attention and any damage from those event mobs/bosses!
Too many players around = Most events are no-brainers
the main bosses of the maps should atleast be a lot more difficult honestly, behemoth, fire elemental, tequatl, shaterer, for name some.
^ROFL saying fire elemental is too easy, most players in the lvl 1-15 take 2 hours at least to kill that guy.
I agree that Dynamic Events are way too easy when there are a lot of people around (and absolutely no fun). I think that if ANet could add more skills to mobs as the number of players rises, it would be much more fun (if not difficult). Centaur trample, big AoEs, something to make players dodge and move around instead of just spamming 1 and their AoEs, hoping for contribution.
While I agree that most of the events I’ve done were too easy (especially the dragon encounters) I think a LOT of people would disagree. Take the extremely easy fights against Giants as an example. Melee players usually drop like flies on those even though it’s so easy to dodge every single stomp. Imagine the rage if they’d make those fights harder
I’d personally would make the events harder for people that decide to play ranged (esp. the 1200range) but keep it more or less the same for the people that decide to melee.
+1. the advertised bread ‘n’ butter of GW2, the DE’s, need some serious tweaks/buffs. im only about 30 levels in, but i havent died in a DE yet and found their difficulty to be trivial. and as mentioned, they need to be especially harder for ranged specs.

I have to agree. i have 67% world completion and 800+ achievement points (without touching pvp). I run across a lot of zones, a lot of dynamic events and all i can say – 99% of them are too easy and provide no challange. I run alone and yes – soloing events is quite hard but already 2 people at the place and things are too easy…
The scalling needs a lot of tweaking. For example fire elemental is too hard as for lvl 15 zone but provide a challange. But for example Shatterer is totally easy, way too easy. I would expect Shatterer to be harder then some fire elemental from lvl 15 zone … cmon. Shatterer dies in around 3-5 minutes not doing any harm to players. I barely see anyone in downed state.
On the other hand as i bring shatterer example we could talk about the zerg. There is a lot of people fighting the dragon each time it spawns. But comming back to DE’s and bringing zerg on topic = hard to kill anything as melee. Im having a really hard time as warrior to actually get to the mob before it dies in most of events. Whats the point of having the crossproffession combos if nobody is using them. Conditions and boons ? Nobody look at them in events because there is no time for it because i want to kill ANYTHING.
Also there is a really bad scalling in rewards from events – sometimes i hit the champion really hard doin maybe 1/10 of damage and i get bronze when sometimes i just hit something once and get gold…
