-1201-1500 range; 12% bonus damage

-Cooldown 90 seconds.
Signet of Smoke(Thief): Stealth skills last 1 second longer and apply swiftness to affected allies.
Active: Shadowstep to target area and place a smoke field blinding foes and absorbing projectiles.

I’d like to see 2 Elite Skill for Mesmers, since they’re masters in clones and phantasms, I would like to see something like the following:
1. Dances of Chaos (CD 120, 900-1200 radious, channeling cast)
From the caster, 10ish clones are summoned and they run here and there arround him in a 900-1200 units area. After 3-4 seconds, they shatter and hit multiple enemies applying random conditions according to Mesmer traits, plus 3 extra stacks of confusion.
Since it’s a skill that summons clones, the Illusionist Celerity decreases the CD by 20%.
The Mesmer has the chance to hide among his clones (not stealthed) or just run away in stealth.
2. Breaking Limits (CD 120, instant cast)
The Mesmer gains 2 random boons for 5 seconds and the ability to summon 1 extra clone or phantasm for 30 secs.
The other day, I noticed something strange after using rampage in wvw. I was doing fine and all the sudden I was stunned. Then I as getting knocked back, and after a couple seconds fell and was left in confusion. It happened a couple of times and then the obvious hit me, boon removal.
Now before the s/d change on thief, I rarely saw boon removal. It just wasn’t something I ran into often, but it seems to of become a bit popular now on thieves and I believe mesmers can do the same(just don’t see them doing it as often).
I don’t suggest changing that, boon removal/stealing is a valid tactic considering thief gets almost no boons. What I do suggest is certain transformation skills be changed from stability as a boon to stability like certain pve bosses have it, and here’s why.
Rampage, replaces ALL skills, including utility skills with 5 new weapon skills. This means if someone removes your stability, you have no access to a stun breaker. Being at such a low endurance regeneration you simply cannot avoid enemy cc and can expect to be taken out of the fight much sooner than you’d expect. This is a 180 second cooldown… completely shut down by 1 tactic. All rampage is there to do is boost your survivability and offer some cc, which is becoming even less attractive as it can be simply removed rendering a 3 minute cooldown useless.
There are a couple elite skills that grant stability, and for good reasons. I suggest them into an unremovable stability since most of them arn’t effective at all without it. This includes:
-Tornado (ele/engi)
-Rampage (war/engi)
-Dagger storm (thf)
-lich form/plague (nec)
-Avatar of Melandru (hum)
These long cooldowns can’t do anything without ignoring cc, it’s bad enough aoe pulsing blind is everywhere. I think boon removal/stealing is a cool concept but not when it puts long cooldowns like elite skills to rest. People already don’t like rampage, and I can imagine this is on the list of reasons.
(side note) I suggest avatar of melandru be completely reworked, but the stability removal would make the worst skill in the game even more pathetic.

Avatar of grenth is the worst skill in the game, least mel can be kinda useful to your allys.
They need new/more skills in general for all professions, not just elites.

Well I was considering to change the post to Improving utility/healing/elite skills or something along the lines of it, I actually had a couple ideas. Thing is a lot of builds have useful utility already from what I’ve experienced and seen so it’d probably be best to improve the useless utility skills before adding new ones. If you have any ideas on improving some of the useless utility/healing skills as well feel free to post em. Generally I’m more concerned about elite skills at this point since they are far behind the others but hey, this is an open thread. Post as you wish, but constructivly please.
Topic has been adjusted to elite and utility skills. Assume utility includes healing skills because the title is already cut up due to the length.
New skill type for rangers: shapeshift
