Laurels are only earned through daily and monthly achievements (starting with the feb monthly) and will not reward for previous daily/monthly achievements completed since folks didn’t know this system was coming.
I also remember a quote explicitly stating that the january monthly would not award the new currency.
So it would not be fair if some people did get 10 laurels for completing the january monthly when we were basically told to complete it because you wouldn’t get laurels.
I’d really like some verification from a dev on this one if people did or did not get laurels for completing the january monthly.

I specifically completed my monthly after reading that Colin Johanson post, safe in the knowledge that I wouldn’t get screwed by doing so.
That’s pretty messed up.
EDIT: Wait, just to clarify. OP and others, do you have confirmed reports from players who did receive laurels for completing the monthly post-patch? Or did you speculate that by having already completed the monthly, you’d missed out?

I asked in LA chat about the laurels for january monthly (as I did mine long ago) and I’m told no. Even for completing the monthly for January, they did not receive laurels. So don’t feel left out…

Yeah, given the multiple confirmations pre-patch that Jan’s monthly would not reward laurels, and no evidence of any other threads besides this one on the topic, I’m now reasonably certain that the OP simply never read the multiple dev posts on the topic.
