Sure I like the positives; the culling finally gone from wvw, the titles finally being seen on other’s, the answer towards small guild’s not getting to do guild missions(which is great and all, but there are still issues that could be looked at imo), but with great additions comes equally great ‘wtf are you doing anet’ moments..
Engineers; you are stuck to the ideal’s of ANet if you want to be viable. You we’re too powerful with the insane amount of damage and survivability you have. Obviously you the engi had to be nerfed back down from being impossible to kill no matter what build you we’re using.. oh and solo tanking came easy to you right? ..oh wait, that was warrior’s and thieves..
Thanks ANet for the turret buff, as if any engineer would actually use those outside a possible farming of bandit butter setup(which would of worked very well had butter’s DR not been nerfed.. wow.. complaining about a silly thing like that.. lol cuz it’s not like butter is req. for anything in cooking right?).
Hell has been rained down on engineer.. but that’s not the only bad thing about this patch:
Let’s put in weapon skins that look awesome, but let’s add a little RNG into the mix and make it so you can only get them by getting the token req. for it via BLC’s. Which are already proven to be a pretty bad way to get anything. I mean, yeah, I’m gunna make a character to farm key’s from the level 10 story mission and all, and it will take a hell of a lot of time to do that, but I’ve read a lot of complaints already about people buying like 100 keys and getting no tokens, and another one who sold their dusk to buy 150 key’s and get nothing.
‘Oh but you can get keys from drops..’
Drops you say? hmm. this is true. I did get one back when the game launched.. and one the other week.. that’s all though..
I have an idea! make the keys tradable instead of account bound. The price would fluctuate for a while, but eventually it would settle, but that’s to be expected. besides, ANet, you could just go in and change the price like you did with ecto/unid dyes if it got too low/too high.
what else is bugging me with the game.. necromancers can be substituted by any other class for any build they have, DR is horrible, remove it because with it, its nearly impossible to get anything. You don’t want player’s farming your game but you want people playing your game. MMO’s ALWAYS have farmer’s. hell, just look at Cursed Shore’s on any server and you will still see that. The Few, The Patient, The Dedicated Farmer. It’s probably because of this that no one does Balthazar on SoS anymore. I NEVER see that waypoint uncontested anymore.. T_T
Additions that would help improve this game:
1. bring back KR for engineers, but change the skill that made it OP to either less grenades or maybe less powerful grenades that possibly. with the cd that was on it each of the skills already, the trait really didn’t need that much of a nerf.. imo..
2. Remove DR. Yes, I understand that it’s there so we don’t have botter’s but we the community helped you in that case. There will always be botters/gold sellers, but DR hurts the community more then the botters/gold sellers, who mind you, sell gold for multiple games, not just GW2.
3. Actually help the small guilds out. The bounty training is a start, a step in the right direction, but only one step. How about dynamically scaling the amount of influence needed/required for upgrades determined on the amount of people representing. I know, you probably will say something like, ‘Oh but that would be so hard to make because the system.. this.. the game that.. and we can’t because it would put stress on the blah blah blah..’ Really? would it honestly put that much effect on it? You are already calculating how much influence is added via who’s repping, so how hard would it be to scale the influence needed? ah but thinking about it, the bigger guilds would just get access to content faster right? well maybe put some sort of cd on it so they can’t, like, have everyone not rep for an hour or so, so the count drops and the influence amount drops, activate and then rep..
A cd of like, 3 day’s could stop that. That seem’s to be ANet’s magic number, 3 day’s for bounty training, 300 influence needed for 3000 influence.. Even if big guilds did the no rep for less influence needed, that would mean NO influence gained in that time. 3 days is a long time not to rep after all…
oh and don’t get me started on the difficulty to gain any sorta cash in this game..
idk, I think I’m going to stop playing for a while.. maybe I’ll go play skyrim and watch TES:O vids.. or play Eve or something.. I love gw2 and all, but each patch brings more issues then stuff I’ll enjoy.. but that’s fine right? they said they don’t care if one person stops playing or not because they can just come back whenever they feel like doing so..
yeah..
