Monthly Options
I also just thought that AN needs to add Laurel vendors for sPvP. Let them but skins or dyes or something.
My suggestion is to create monthlies tailored to any specific type of player. I’m one of those people that never does PvE because the rewards are not worth it and don’t offer anything particularly useful. (Ascended power gear has 8 more power than Rare Armor, so worth it…) I’m not into Laurels for Ascended armor, which is a joke because you’ve negated the whole point of fractals by adding this way to pay for them, I’m after them for Crafting Kits, Loot Bags, and Gold.
My suggestion is quite simple and would only take little effort to design.
Monthly Options based on a character’s standard way of playing. No PvE for PvPers or WvWers, No PvP for PvEers. It’s that simple. All that would have to be done is to have a option to select what type of character you want to play and players can do their monthly based on what ever is the most convenient for them.
The only problem I could see with an option like this is people going: People will just do w/e option is the most easy and if that’s option in PvP, then people who PvE will be at a slight disadvantage. — To this I say make the Monthly challenging. It’s supposed to be complete in a MONTH, not a DAY. For PvEers make the run 20 fractals or multiple paths. For sPvPers make them run multiple tournaments and salvage so much PvP gear. For WvWers make then have to take so many keeps/towers (Feasible on any server due to Siegerazor being OP).
Make Time = Time, Running a dungeon with a pug that has no idea what they are doing would take 40+ mins. That’s enough time for at least two break-out events to occur. So, running 5 dungeons in a MONTH and taking 10 towers in a MONTH. Note: I believe that these numbers are a little too low, but they were just examples of how to balance Time it takes to complete certain objectives.
If you want people invested in something they are doing, it has to be something they will enjoy.
