I recently lost over 5g of materials because someone took my ectos and my imbued berserker inscription. They offered to help me build an item and were helpful before the offer so I took it. It was a gamble and I lost.

This could easily be prevented with a player to player crafting window. The players engage each other, place materials into the slot and if it matches a recipe or discovery a player can unlock it will do so. Enable the players to have outside assistance with no fear of theft.

To use World of Warcraft as an example, their window for trading was awesome and enchantments were done without the objects leaving the owners. It would be a safe and handy tool to have around!

ArenaNet won’t admit to this, but the reason we have no trading system at all is because ArenaNet wants to force players to put items onto the auction house for the money sink. They don’t want people making backdoor deals that bypass the listing fee.

They implemented the mail system with the idea that people would not do what you did, which is to give someone items/money in return for money/items. People, for instance, will not try to buy a precursor from someone for 200 gold from the mail because there is that chance that the person will just steal the 200 gold.

I highly doubt they will change anything in relation to trading.
