Seriously Anet, are you trying to make GW2 a laughing stock like its bigger cousin ?

For that other game it was a blatant attempt to bring in more subscribers by aiming at the children’s market
I’d hate to see this great game become a kiddie’s game too :-(

Polymock refers to a mini game in GW1 and the Polymock arena near Rata Sum, which might feature the same mini game once it’s accessible.

Even if there’s any reference to Pokemon (which I doubt) it’s likely just an easter egg, no big deal.

Yea,polymock was indeed in gw1 and the “older” brother stole it from us.

Skill based combat based heavily on Roshambo or more commonly known as Rock-Paper-Scissors. The Polymock Pieces where not mini’s in GW1 but actual playing pieces that had to be won from other NPC opponents or found in the Dungeons.

Maybe they will allow Mini’s to be pieces this time. And maybe they will allow you to fight your friends polymock pieces/mini collection.

Polymock has nothing to do with Pokemon. It’s from Guild Wars 1.

From what I’ve heard, Polymock was very popular in GW.

On Pokemon, If you ever played the hand held games. You would know Pokemon makes a much better video game then it does as a children’s anime.

I’m actually looking forward to Polymock and all the mini game activities which are not yet ingame, but are already mentioned. The shooting gallery in Divinity’s Reach for example, or Bar Brawl. One of the last patches actually added Bar Brawl achievements i the activity section, but sadly, it is still not available ingame. Even though NPCs try to recruit you as a brawler.

And as others pointed out, Polymock was around before another MMO introduced pet battles and quite fun. Although I have to admit that, in GW1, I only defeated as many of the Polymock masters as was necessary to get access to the Fire Djinn Skill on my Elementalist… for pure style reasons. XD

I loathed it. It was horribly hard.
The pieces all had a few unique skills and then 4 or 5 skills that they all shared. It was very much about strategically attacking using your skills and interrupts to defeat the enemies Polymock piece (you played as the pieces, so you were essentially transformed into a monster).

It was a pretty cool idea though and I can’t wait to see how it’s implemented in GW2. I was actually kind of sad when I saw the “Polymock Stadium” in Rata Sum on the map and Asura Gate but then realized it wasn’t in game yet and you couldn’t actually reach it

You my friend are brilliant. I <3 this. Asura are adorkable anyway, so I think it would fit perfectly.
