Salvaging Trahearne (plot idea)
Considering his Plot’s over with, why even bother.
So this might sound like a cliche, crazy idea, but I think figured out how to salvage Trahearne and save the plot of GW2.
What if he was influencing the Pact with some sort of charisma power, and he was really serving the Nightmare Court? And that’s how he so easily became the Leader?
It sounds cliche and silly, but it opens up a few possibilities:
1. Trahearne as an antagonist. Come on, we all want to beat him up!
2. It explains how such a random “scholar” could so easily risen to power in the pact.
3. It makes ANET’s writers seem a bit more credible after building up amazing characters and dropping the ball when he is introduced.
Of course, he’s still a firstborn and the Pale Tree trusts Trahearne, and she would know if he was serving the nightmare court? So what if he always had some charismatic power he radiated unintentionally? But when he converts to the nightmare court, he uses it for evil?
Anyways, it does sound like a silly idea, but it was worth suggesting. But my suggestion is more along the lines of giving Trahearne the power of subtle charisma to influence those around him subliminally as opposed to flat out mind control.
It definitely does explain how someone so boring to the player is able to influence my character so easily. yawn
