I suggest implementation of sms verification per ip (instead of authenticator app) to gw2 login system. (google uses that for google accounts etc.)
If we try to login from an IP different from our current IP, this IP won’t be allowed to access the account until it’s verified with a code sent to your phone via sms. But it won’t authorize an IP range, just a specific IP address. IP-range authorization means, everyone from my area is allowed to access my account as long as they crack my password. Sms verification for a specific ip auth, would allow us a cutting edge account security..

Don’t they have e-mail verification for this? I’m almost positive they do.

well, it will just be an extra security option in the settings for those who want to use, not an obligation.

we won’t send sms back to the system, we’ll just enter that sms verification code to gw2 game launcher upon login. but this won’t happen everytime we try to login, just when our previously authorized ip changes.

It costs me to receive or send a text message.

It will be optional(like current mobile authenticator app) so u won’t be obligated to use this feature. As an extra, specific ip auth instead of ip range auth would be good.

Believe it or not, some of us want phones with battery life measured in days, not hours.

Is it so much to ask for a phone to just be a phone?

Also…phones are for makign calls, nothing else. Unplug from the matrix people.
