Although face to face trading was already mentioned that it will not be implemented, I believe there are ways to maybe work around it.
Currently, trading between friends can only be done via the mail system, which starts to prevent you from sending each other mail after the second one. Sincerely, I think this is a great thing to prevent mail spammers (gold sellers and etc), but I believe it also has its down side.
Problem
In a scenario where player A has already leveled all his professions to 400, his ingredients can then be passed onto player B (friend or guild mate) to assist them in leveling their professions. As mentioned above, if you want to mail all your ingredients to your friends, you will have to send 2 mail (10 ingredients), and wait for a few minutes to begin sending the next batch of ingredients. For a profession that requires a huge list of ingredients like cooking, this is a task that is impossible to done within an hour or two.
Solution
Here are some suggestions that I would like to make, which can probably workout.
1) Mail system can remain as is while adding a feature where mail-spamming turns off if mailer and recipient are friends or guild members. This can prevent the initial worries of face to face trading, while solving the problems similar to the one mentioned above.
2) A face to face trading implementation that only becomes available when traders are friends or guild mates. Similar to the solution mentioned in #1.
Some might say, “well, 5 minutes isn’t that long, just wait it out, and keep sending the stuff every 5 minutes.” Yeah, but when you have to send 100 ingredients through the mail, that’s a huge wait. You can’t do anything else while waiting either, because you’ll probably forget sending it while running a dungeon, or downing that Jormag.
There’s my suggestion to our current trading system. All comments are welcome, as it will help improve the game for everyone.
