The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
I see post after post after post complaining about thief’s in WvW.

Is actually only 1 example of which there are many.
Rangers, Engineers have all been nerfed, even tho the community never asked for it. Now there’s the AoE nerf that was never asked for. Yet ArenaNet doesn’t even have a discussion about a profession that cause more upset than any other.
I have a thief and I love playing my thief. I kill regularly, I harass constantly and rarely die and I can see the silliness of the thief’s stealth mechanic.
In WvW/PvP it’s completely silly. 100% agreed. In PvE it’s fun, works, and is balanced.
The problem is every thief that wants to be competitive in smaller scale WvW and PvP is most likely going to run that stealth/condition build. The one everyone hates to be on the receiving side, where they attack and add DoTs, stealth to heal up and remove conditions, then rinse and repeat to the point of making one-on-one a royal PITA.
Now of course there are ways to counter some of it. But you have to bring not only your A game but a real knowledge of thief builds and what they can utilize just to stand a chance in PvP against them. Not so with many other classes.
And to make matters worse, the culling issue that’s still not completely fixed, contributes to the thief problem. You can’t prepare for what you can’t see, and you can’t fight what’s in stealth.
It’s a problem I hope they address over time without ruining the PvE side of being a thief.
