A year into development, some of these things I know have been asked for / cried for / demanded since launch and I’m left wondering… why the wait? Why are we getting all kinds of new /other/ stuff and not paying attention to the people who have been patient for these things? Patience runs out eventually and I can’t imagine you guys (Arena Net) want to lose customers as a result.

So here’s my list along with brief explanations of what I think needs to be added:

1) Guild Halls.
The game is called “Guild Wars”. The title alone is misleading when players join and realize there’s no such thing as a guild hall. And no, WvW fort claiming does not count.

2) NPC Clothing available in gem shop / for crafting.
Honestly, the models, designs, and textures for NPC town clothing has already been done, so why is it so hard to add them to what players can wear? If crafters could make them (around 400 maybe), it would give crafters something to actually do that otherwise wouldn’t be possible.

3) Trade Post Armor Type Filter.
Why do we still load up the Trade Post and see the filters for “Armor” “Helmet, Chest, Boots” and “Rarity”, but no Heavy, Medium or Light? I don’t care about Acolyte clothing when I’m looking for Rawhide.

4) Color highlights around gear in your inventory.
Why do I need to hover my mouse over every single item in my inventory to see what rarity it is? Why can’t that grey box around the item be colored blue, green, yellow, orange, etc. based on how rare the item is?

5) Weapon Dye Options.
A lot of people like to dye weapons because maybe the weapon you’re using has an awesome skin, but the color of it doesn’t match with your armor dye choice. So then you try to dye your armor to make it match the weapon and realize you need to go and buy different dyes to make it match the weapon and ya de ya. Why can’t we dye our weapons?

6) Build Template Saving.
Why was this option from Guild Wars 1 removed (or ignored) for Guild Wars 2?

7) A Pet Menagerie.
I liked the Guild Wars 1 Menagerie because it meant I didn’t need to run around the world finding pets I had located previously on other characters.

8) Mute means “MUTE”.
I can’t be the only person who puts someone on my ignore list, then I continue to see their emotes, guild chat, etc. and get annoyed by this. I don’t want to turn off emotes because I’m a role player, and doing so would hide 90% of the text out there.

9) Personal Story Rewards Have Use.
What are those “soulbound” Personal Story rewards that show up in our living story tab? Why can’t we use them? What are they? Are we ever going to see a point to having said soulbound rewards?

10) STOP LIVING STORY, FIX OTHER PROBLEMS
At the risk of being stoned, tarred and feathered by the community, I must request that you (Arena Net) put a stop on the living story stuff and address the various bugs, glitches, and requests people have been talking about since Day 1. I still walk around Metrica Province and see floating trees that have been ignored. Why is it so hard to lower the trees or remove them? I still see my Asura ears clipping with most of the Asura tier armor. It’s Asura cultural gear and their physical stuff clips? What? Seriously? YES SERIOUSLY! Please stop updating the Living Story and fix the problems that are already in place. Use the time you have from not developing the Living Story to address some of these requests that have been requested since Day 1.

And this is a bit of a suggestion to let Veteran Players really -feel- like Veteran Players. People who have been playing since Day 1, or even since Beta, and have been loyal to the game since the beginning:

Hall of Heroes Access
Similar to that stone that brings you to the Eye of the North, players who have been playing the game for a full year will be granted access to the Hall of Heroes with an unlimited reusable HoH stone. Within the Hall of Heroes, you could pick up armor skins that you have unlocked, access all the armor crafting tables w/ merchants, have the option to pick up NPC town clothing for your characters, be able to tame any pets you may have unlocked, and be able to harvest all the plants, minerals, etc. once a day in this area.

As it stands, the only thing that says you’re a veteran player right now is that Queen Jennah mini, a leveling scroll, the Achievement rewards, and perhaps a legendary weapon. That’s fine and dandy, but how about something that really -shows- we’re veterans to players who haven’t been around for a year? Having the option to -finally- walk around in NPC clothing would set you aside from players who haven’t played for a year, so your dedication shows. Having the option to wear level 80 armor or use level 80 weapons at level 5 without the use of transmutation stones would show players you’ve been around for a while because otherwise you shouldn’t be able to use said armor at your level. It would make veteran 1-year-old players really feel like they’re being rewarded and not egged on to continue playing and hoping for some future content.

Having only one character to 80 I really think that it would be a great idea to have “Build Sets” or whatever, possibly including armors, this way you could switch traits and armor without loosing half a hour just to go from PvE to WvW for five minutes

@Kal

Because when players see us running around using gear that shouldn’t be available for that level, they’d likely ask “Where’d you get that armor?” if they’re new and you can say, “I got it from the Hall of Heroes. You need to play for a year to access it.”

Or perhaps Arena Net could make special armor or weapon appearances for each year players play the game. So Year 1 would be “Genesis” armor or something, then Year 2 would be something pertaining to an important event that takes place in the second year. That way players who are a year+ old can show it off with something beyond a special mini.

Still no Character Limit/Quality checkbox for PVE (or at the very least in major cities, especially after culling will be turned off).

In case no one else said this yet, this option is coming when culling gets turned off (official post confirmed this here).

Mini-Pet Slot and Consumables Slots need to be invisible if no items in them.

Add control over what hud features are turned on.

Maybe I’m interpreting what you said incorrectly, but if the slots are invisible when nothing is in them, then how can you put items in them?

I think he means for showing up in the UI. The Mini-pet slot shouldn’t be in the UI at all, of course, but the consumables obviously would be. Personally I think it’s silly, just put something in them. I guarantee you have something you could put in them, there is no reason to not use them.

I hadn’t considered that the slots would show up on the screen. Why do that? Our weapons don’t show up on the screen and we all remember what we equipped.

I think that the whole idea is to have and additional icon visible when a food/mini is equipped to have key shortcut assigned to it to quickly consume it if we want to – just like using weapon skill or utility without the need of opening inventory and double clicking on the item. All of this for much needed convenience

Um… I’m not sure what weapons you’re using that they don’t show on the screen, but for me I have 5 whole icons dedicated to my weapons.

The point would be to show you what you have equipped in each of the slots and to show you which key to press to activate them.

How about just the other side of the health ball from F1-F4 at the same size as those icons? Put down four of them and make them F5-F8.

If you wanna play the game like a movie then you do not do this by not having one little additional icon…

The wardrobe or some sort of proper alternate system for cosmetic appearances really stands out to me as well. Not only is it something that would benefit pretty much all of the player base, but it’s also something that would directly benefit ANet as well given that it would drive the interest in players spending Gems/Gold/Time on cosmestic items (and on opening up more cosmetics storage space/outfit slots). See Lord of the Rings Online for the right way to do this if a direct conversion of the PvP Locker isn’t possible/desired.

The ability to sort armor by light/medium/heavy in the auction house.

10000% yes. There is literally no reason I can see why this has not been implemented yet. It has to be one of the most obvious, if not the most obvious, quality of life UI elemnts that is missing from the game right now.

I agree with alot of what everyone is saying about what’s needed in GW2. In my opinion the game is weak in the area of social interaction options. Guild Halls, player housing, LFG option, larger party sizes for dungeons and PVE may cause more players to become personally invested in the game and stay with it. While I have a small guild of nine players five of them gave up on the game six months ago for these reasons. We wanted to play in groups of at least 8 like we did in GW1 and couldn’t. Several big MMO titles are in the works and if they provide many of the options listed in this thread we will see a mass exodus of players from the game when they are released. This is something I don’t want to see because I want this game to endure. ANet….please improve the social aspect of play before this happens.
