i think that rangers need more pets that are not real animals people play these games for the fantasy and monsters why not let us have like small karkas and pets that are on fire or more things like fern hounds cool stuff i want to spend time looking for in the world what pets wold you guys like to see.

I badly miss my flaming hound of Balthazar from Guild Wars 1. :-(

I agree, more pets would be great, even though I do think we are already doing ok for a good range. My idea was for more of a beefy pet system. So I was just doing the washing up and thinking how I’d like to dive into my ranger and get all the current pets out there ‘need to do that’.

Then I thought how good it would be to have some kind of special pet as a reward. Charting and finding all the pets takes a long time and it would be great to have some kind of reward for that.

I agree with this, Rangers definitely need a better variety of pets.
What I dearly and badly want is to be able to have a Raptor as a pet.
Let’s hope we get to see something like this in the future.

More is better. “Cool” is entirely in the eye of the beholder, though (most Legendaries = Thpppt!) But I personally prefer “real” animals. Why is there a lion cub minipet but no adult lion? Hmm… seems to me they’re hinting at a return to Elona… (Give us a FULLY MANED King-of-the-Beasts ANet!)

I would love some great Phoenix as a pet instead :/

I’ll never pass an opportunity to voice my desire for more aquatic pets (particularly dolphins and otters…underwater animals that don’t look like mindless eating machines). I’d rather them not make the apex predators like griffons or monsters like skelk tamable, though.

Edit: Add manta rays to my list of desired aquatic pets.

The GW1 Rainbow Phoenix was very pretty and would make a great addition, but it was WAY too big. It blocked the view of both the Ranger AND his party. Keep ‘em down to a certain maximum size, please, ANet. (Now we’re talking a return to Cantha!)

see genophix thats why i love this stuff i mean meeting people who fell the same i would love some more pets and raptors would be great but i do agree with darkace that no monsters like imps and skelks but i think that griffins are not that bad they are two animals together but i really like this stuff keep up with the ideas this is making me think i have thought about maybe a penguin or something and maybe like some sort of snakes like some big different kinds of snakes like rattle snakes and spitting cobras along with some more area specific creatures like the fern hound you know maybe a pet or two maybe of ice or like the rock dogs

If an ogre can have things as pets why can’t I? So want a rock dog.

Thing is giving new pet types unique f2 skills and fitting them into existing traits.

Would love to see elite pets. Uber strong pets attatched to an elite skill (think flesh golem) that replace you currently deployed pet. The pet itself could be on par with other pets but once deployed the elite skill would offer another ability. Esentially functioning like another f2 skill. Could allow for some non typical pets that may be conisdered too strong otherwise.

This would also be great for if they added more elite skills in game for each class that involved elite skill challenges. Perhaps something instanced and personal to aquire. Thus they could add new racial, class, and generic elites to the game over time in high lvl zones. Complete the challenge to unlock the skill and use skill points to aquire.

But this would be a good way to introduce new pets beyond a new area like cantha or other expansion sized additions

have to admit I miss pets from WoW, made did they have some kick kitten skins.

I’d also love to have a Southsun tropical bird, a rabbit, in fact I would love to be able to charm every creature in the game!

Hopefully, when they make expansions they will increase the number of Ranger pets for new animals native to the areas. For example, Elona had crocodiles and Cantha had white tigers that you could tame, as well as others. Just by doing this they could increase the number of ranger pets.
