1st id like to have collectibles in the bank increased in stack size. 250 limit is easily reached and i dont want to sell my unused raw materials

2nd add more collectible slots such as half formed armors meals , and for karma drops jugs and whatever else. these things are collectible so lets have some space for them

by all means charge a gem price for them or let us know if theyre being planned for an expansion. i want these things and yes im willing to buy them.

off topic could a rare crafting material buff opposite of magic find be added? i dont have many vials of blood but im up to my eyeballs in various magic dusts or leather scraps.

Wintersday is for the Charr, also Meatober.

I would pay for that, just as I paid for expanding my wallet in lotro (for it to store more token types etc).

I might be wrong but I’m afraid that changing the stack sizes would require some heavy changes in the code. I presume that they’re using 1-byte unsigned integers to save those values, which gives access to the numbers 0-255, and doubling these numbers’ sizes would be kind of a big deal. So while this would certainly be a welcome change, I think it’s highly unlikely to be actually implemented.

Or possibly in hex. That is, 00 to FF. I do hope they will find a way to do this however, in which case an extra F would allow for stacks of up to 4095, but I do think if they do increase it they only allow for stacks up to 999 for display reasons.

Hex is just an alternative way to write the numbers down, in the computer they are stored in bytes using binary regardless. 00-FF, which corresponds to 0-255, is still 256 combinations that completely fill 1 byte. Adding any new information to that, such as an extra value, or 4 as you’re suggesting, would still require a new byte (unless they already work with the numbers on bit level, which I’d find rather impractical).

Actually, in today’s SQL databases (which I’m sure they are using), increasing it from “tinyint type” to say even “smallint” (which would then allow up to 32,767 stack size) isn’t a big deal at all.

You can change the data type pretty easily, as this field would not be a primary (or even indexed) field, and you’re increasing the size, not reducing the size.

Normally, you’d be correct that changing the field type can pose problems, but this isn’t a relational field, this is just a numeric value that contains the stack size, and would be very easy to increase the size limit on it. Even if they had to run a few scripts on the backend of the database to perform the task, it wouldn’t really be that much work to increase this limit.

Honestly, I think the limit is there so that people can’t hoard tons of resources, and although I would like to see it increased to something like 1,024 stack size, I doubt they will anytime soon, as any extra can be stored in the regular bank (which is where they make money from gem buyers).

Wouldn’t that make the stack limit 255, not 250 ?

It’s quite clear that ANET picked the 250 item limit for some other reason. They probably used 250 in GW2 because that’s what they used in GW1. But GW1 had other silly limits, like limiting how much gold you could carry, and thus how much gold you could trade at one time.

I’d say that the stack limit should be at least 1,850. Why 1,850 ?
Because that limit lets people save up enough fractal tokens to buy the components of an Ascended fractal capacitor while only using a single slot to store the tokens until I have enough. Not 8 slots as the 250 item limit requires.

I have a Masters in IT Info Sec so I feel for you with the numbering system. And when have they EVER done anything here that was practical?

I invented something for this problem. i just use a lower toon which i don’t play at the moment. I equipped her with 18 slots bags and put there all the stuff i don’t use atm or stack of crafting mats .) easier than that?

Being able to amass large amounts of any commodity for reasons other than either creating a legendary or making some kind of big trading post transaction is hard to understand. You can always just form a bank alt guild with friends or make an alt with huge bags. If you are holding onto things just for the sake of holding onto them you might just have a hording disorder.

Being able to stack dungeon tokens would be helpful though since several items require more than 1 stack of tokens to purchase.
