I recently switched worlds along with my partner to take advantage of the free transfer window, i expected that since I’m the creator and leader of the guild that the influence and upgrades would follow in the switch. I would NOT have switched worlds and forfeit all our months of hard efforts if we were forewarned. Now that my partner and I have switched we feel angry that we would now need to move back to our old servers and
costing 1800 gems each. There are no warning whatsoever about loss of guild progressions and if there were we wouldn’t have made the move.
I have spoken to customer support about this matter and they say their hands are tied and their only suggestion is to get gems and move back to our original world. Why do we as customers need to waste time and resources on a matter that can be easily rectified? A explicit notice before World transfer is needed so that this does not happen to anyone else. I am seriously dissatisfied on how this is oversight can be ingame for so long and how Customer Service cannot put me back into our original world without incurring additional cost or time grafting free gems via gold/gem trading. I have no doubt that your systems can credit gems at discretion but you have chosen not to. so that anyone who have fallen into your entrapment will be forced to either pay up or lose months progress.

A very unhappy and lost all faith customer.

In a democratic perspective it makes perfect sense that ‘The Guild’ itself moves only when the majority of it’s members move. And to be honest, I think that if even one member stays behind ‘The Guild’ stays behind as well.

They should warn people about that, though. I agree on that.

They indeed should have warned people better, about having to start all over with the guild when switching servers..though I find out in time.
If you do not have permition to buy things with guild influence and earn points on other server for a guild ,
you are wasting time because nothing will ever be done with that influence unless someone in the guild gives you permition to buy upgrades/or the guild moves to your server
(which i doubt many will do now it costs 1800 gems each player)
Or perhaps they should have a group offer transfer for guilds..

They allowed joining a guild in other region from the beginning(which is wrong if they would ever separate US/EU).And now the only thing I can do with the guild I used to play with in gw1 on the us channel is switch over to have a chat.
But if I earn any influence I earn it on my server and not theirs.(so i can do nothing with the influence while I earned like 700 influence for them thus far)
I am unhappy about the part that I cant play with my friends from gw1 I used to play with and that I have to make a choice between them or my friends here in real(which I obviously have chosen as long as they play too)
But I still feel very bad about it as it is now

While I agree an in-game warning should have been in place, this is the way guilds have worked from the very start. And it really does put a hamper on all multi-world guilds. All influence is earned per world, and all upgrades are bound to that world. The only exception is (afaik) the guild emblem that is set globally, although each world must still pay for the emblem upgrade to be able to put it on guild armor etc.

Not even the guild stash is shared. Each world unlock the stash separately, and the content of the stash is also separate (so it is not like one would imagine a shared stash just unlocked per world). Which is kind of silly considering the shared TP and cross-world mail. This last point is especially important when swapping worlds as a guild, since you can lock yourself out of your guild’s stash holdings if you forget to clear your stash before moving..

Anyway, yes it sucks to have to rebuild everything, and personally I would want there to be a “move guild including upgrades” option available, but the current mechanics are well-known and documented at for instance the official wiki.

Regarding the issues of creating upgrades by “off-world” members, our guild has solved this by making an “ambassador” rank for everyone not on our primary world, with different privs suiting their situation. Not a perfect solution, but works well enough.

At least give people the ability to buy Guild Influence Drinks with the leftover influence in the old server to be used in the new server. Would make the sting not so bad.
