Is there anybody else thinking that this fight is awesome and POSSIBLE with the right tactic?
Isnt it just about balling this time all together near a commander for example, so that the turrets can constantly fire with 2 on Tequatl and skill 3 and 4 on the whole group?
In the same time, you need 10 players on each side to protect the turrets. And best would be if the turrents use skill 3 at staggered intervalls. So that the group is always safe.

It s just an idea
But i would like to hear some critical minds

It is, but everybody I talk to is also agreeing that we need 30 minutes instead of 15, since this guy is as long as Jormag.

That sounds like a fine idea. I just read the shouting and hope that I start seeing some of the same folks with the same commands and it starts sinking in so I can move up to 4th wheel from 5th wheel.

Until then, I just used a lot of water to try to keep people alive, and tried to jump over waves. And someone yelled to break fingers, so I broke some fingers.

If you can get pugs to follow, go for it. I doubt it would make up the 90% most groups are getting atm but couldn’t hurt.

Even if it would work that way, which I doubt, that would be pretty formulaic and boring.

The fight has a lot of really cool mechanics, this is something I won’t deny. As a dungeon boss I would absolutely love it, once enough people know the fight that being in overflow isn’t an automatic loss I may even learn to love it the way it is. Anet has had a very serious issue with the past few living story updates which all have some really excellent challenging ideas that are poorly executed. Liadri was a really fun fight, but the zerging at crown pavilion made it kind of sucky (also, the camera, but I’m willing to accept that as part of the challenge). Super Adventure Box world 2 was just way too much in normal mode, it made perfect sense in tribulation mode though. Now we have Tequatl, a very cool fight worthy of a giant dragon boss but it’s an open world boss and it’s just way too difficult for the average player.

I would say that guilds should be in-charge of defending and using turrets while pugs should bring as much DPS as possible and kill fingers.

Here’s what people thought of GW1 when it first came out: http://tinyurl.com/bntcvyc

I absolutely hate relying on other people to complete events like this. For example:
1. We had an afk on the turret that let at least 150 people die. Twice.
2. There was another commander that refused to listen to my plans and led half of my zerg to die a terrible death in one swipe of Teq’s claw.
3. There was a commander that came up with the worst plan I have ever heard in my life. It made my eyes bleed to read it. I gave suggestions, he refused repeatedly and killed us all using his stupid plan.
4. There were literally about 20 afk people standing by the turrets and just making the event scale up to a higher difficulty.

All of this happened in two fights with Teq. Just two.

This event is possible, but unfortunately, people suck.
