Q:
Toypocolypse
Achievements:
1) Not Toying Around – Survive 50 waves of Toypocolypse.
2) Toypocolypse Cancelled – Survive the Toypocolypse without losing any Gift Dolyaks.
That indicates pretty strongly it’s not like the Halloween Dungeon.
My guess is it’s a escort and/or guard Gift Dolyaks while constantly assaulted by psychotic toys. Apparently with 50+ waves. It may be something like a ‘survival mode’ from other games.
idk i mean, it is there until the 3rd, so even if it’s daily it will be okay, I just hope that you can go back into it after completion and do it for the chest again and get stuff from the chest instead of just 3 gifts :c
Hmm… add a little steel drums, some rum… Toypocalypso!

Oh, sorry I kind of misread what you were asking.
Although pertaining to farmability it strikes me a ‘survival mode’ would be highly farmable whether there is a chest or not simply because of drops. I imagine there will be a chest at the end though whether it’s of any more value than these current dungeons…
I can’t be bothered to do the current dungeons more than once though I did the Halloween dungeon a few dozen times.
Didn’t they say it was a mix between waves, tower defense games, and something else?
Please give us a keyring…
yeah I had groups for the Halloween one, just hoping for something like that with a farmability type of thing, idc how long the dungeon takes just if you can do it multiple times in a row
will the instance involve more than 5 players in a party? i sense this is some kind of horde/invasion mode.
maybe it will be like some kind of WvW zone, and we have to zerg hard enough to re occupy or re-cap the region where this all takes place. That would be sweet and fun.
My concern is that I’ll miss being able to do it, or it’ll be something that isn’t in a category of thing that I can accomplish, which will leave me at 11/12, which will be really sad.
I can’t do the jump puzzle.
I’ve run the snowball game over and over again and all I have to show for it is 1/3 and 1/3.
So that leaves just needing ‘one’ of those two Toypocalpse achievements.
Really hope I can do at least one after the 26th.

you should be able to get one of the snowball fight achievements. for one thing most people have their achievements already or get them during the next few days – thus they won’t be as agressively trying to get the gift themselfs. just take scout, stealth always as soon as you can (gives swiftness) and run first to the swiftness boon then to the gift. if you have any character which is a warrior, take it! it has a rush which is great =)
the gift stopper is a bit harder (at least it was for me) as you have to down an enemy player holding the gift. again, either take scout and shoot them with charged shot (4) or take supporter, make the ice field with three and then roll onto them with 5. if your teammates support you, you should be able to down the player and at least have a chance at getting a point towards gift stopper.
if your teammates support you…
This is where the whole thing breaks down. There are no team mates. If you express interest in seeking help to complete the achievements, I swear, it seems like that verbal acknowledgement turns this griefing light on in some people.
And you see everyone’s name, and several times I was on the same team with a person that let me die so they could pick up the box and run, and then turn around and see them on the other team.
At the end of the day, the achievements should have been ‘team’ oriented, as it’s a team oriented activity.
Your ‘team’ successfully returns ‘n’ boxes.
Your ‘team’ successfully foils the enemy from getting ‘n’ boxes.
And just kick the counts up so you still end up running the event a good amount of times, but still have an opportunity to get the achievements.
yeah, I know, the gift stopper is nearly impossible without help of teammates – but to be fair, they will try to help to get the achievement themselfes, and it’s just random (who fires the shot which downs the enemy) who really gets the point for it.. so they can’t grief.
taking gifts during the fights is harder, that’s why I told you an easy way to at least do it at the start of each match. I did this 5 times to get my achievement (and win the team an easy 100 points) and only once was someone doing the same thing (enemy reaching the gift nearly at the same time).. chances are, if you stick to that simple plan, you’ll get the first achievement after no more than 10 matches =)
and if all else fails.. try the jumping puzzle again. at least there it only depends on your skill (yes, character blocking your sight can be annoying, but there is enough time to just let them pass and jump by yourself)..
After witnessing the terrifying power of Princess dolls at PvE environment, I hate to imagine having to face WAVES of them during Toypocolypse event.
Game over man, GAME OVER!
I think they are way stronger in the open world at lvl 80 than in the infinirarium (oh god, who is this spelled???) because there people get scaled up and couldn’t kill them at the full power.. so my guess is, they won’t be that bad at the toypocalypse..
Hmm… add a little steel drums, some rum… Toypocalypso!
Or some creedence and a helicopter….Toypcalypse Now
