I thought this has happened to me to but you actually did get the achievement. The counter sets back to zero because it is a repeatable achievement.

Also, the repeatable achievements don’t count towards the meta. Just as a heads up, you have to do dailys to finish metas.

A question: Do the repeatable achievements count once toward the meta? I.E. the first time you do it? Or do they not count at all towards the meta?

They don’t count at all.
