I get this message when I enter my phone number into the field. I use google voice and can receive SMS through hangouts, including shortcode. Are google voice numbers unsupported?

I get the same message when I try to enter my Ooma phone number.

Is your cell pay as you go? A lot of pay as you go numbers are registered different and not supported as a “real” phone number. They tend to go with most voip numbers. Why they do, I have no idea. But when I worked for a phone company this was an issue for a lot of things.

I just got this message when I try to setup my 2 step verification. It worked before with the same number but now it’s not working. Cause when I try to login it usually ask for a verification code, I thought somebody got a hold of my password and changed the settings again.
