Greetings GW2 players
I am a Word of Warcraft Machinima creator (and some people might recognize me from the wowmodelviewer forums or Source Filmmaker Steam Workshop and the WoW assets I ported to SFM) and purchased this game on sale a while ago. I have decided to recreate a scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail using GW2 assets, but I quickly found out that there is no way how to get the GW2 assets into 3DS Max and SFM, other than using the NinjaRipper tool.
NinjaRipper ‘rips’ the mesh using two methods:
1) Intruder – There’s no documentation how this works but I assume that it saves the mesh and texture data from the GPU memory since it doesn’t replace any files on the target application
2) DirectX dll wrapper – This method won’t even work on GW2 so I’m not even gonna bother explaining in detail what it does, but it basically wraps around the DirectX dll, which modifies it and successfully replaces it
Because of the two ways NinjaRipper gets the mesh out of the game, I want to ask if the In-Game Anti-cheat system/IDS won’t mark the account for termination when using this tool.
If that is the case, sadly, I won’t be able to make any GW2 machinimas, other than in-game.
