Hi all,

I’m new to forums, but when I contacted GW2 support, they directed me here.

I have worked out a good portion of an Elite Specialization that would be available to all classes (all class abilities have been taken into account) providing a new passive ability, introduce a new weapon type to the game: the whip (which means many new skins and a legendary weapon), and new weapon skills unique to each class. It would also provide a great outlet to introduce and reintroduce lore. The theme is modeled after adventurers like Indiana Jones, Lara Croft, Finn and Jake, and the Castlevania characters.

I have the Elite Spec trait line, the utility skills, and a sizable number of the weapon skills fleshed out, but would like some help completing it and hopefully getting it into the game in some way, shape or form.

These are the Traits that I’ve come up with.

Adept Minor

  • Priory
    • You can now equip whips and use Archive skills. Gain a Combat Focus bar which enhances your combat abilities. Combat Focus increases class specific attributes 1% per 10% of Combat Focus.
    • Unstated mechanics: Gain 1% Combat Focus per second while in combat. Lose Combat Focus at a rate of 10% per second OOC.
    • Note: Add Legend Swap Recharge as “class specific attribute” to Revenant.

Adept Major

  • Archivist
    • Increase duration of effects produced by Archive skills by 1s. Increases boon duration, condition duration, revealed duration, and area of effect duration.
    • Unstated mechanics: Increases Eternal Bliss’ activation time by 1s.
  • Favor the Prepared
    • Gain Combat Focus whenever you apply a boon to yourself. Combat Focus increases Boon Duration.
    • Unstated mechanics: +1% per boon gained. +1% Boon Duration per 5% of Combat Focus.
  • Choking Tethers
    • Immobilize does damage over time.
    • Unstated mechanics: (0.4 * Condition Damage) + 296. It’s similar to Terror

Master Minor

  • In the Moment
    • Dodging increases Combat Focus.
    • Increase Combat Focus 5% per dodge.

Master Major

  • Focused Studies
    • Gain Combat Focus faster. Combat Focus degenerates slower when out of combat.
    • Increases Combat Focus generation to 3% per second while in combat.
    • Unstated mechanics: Lose Combat Focus at a rate of 5% per second OOC.
  • Pure Was Li Ming
    • Cast Li Ming’s Ashes when you take damage from one condition that is above the the threshold.
    • This trait needs a bit of work
  • Perfected Whip-crack (or Flagellant)
    • Whip skills deal additional damage and have a chance to daze after swapping to whip. Stun, daze, knockback, pull, knockdown, sink, float, fear, taunt, and launch disable durations are increased by Combat Focus.
    • Duration 5s. Cool down 9s.
    • Main hand chance to daze all hit targets 5% after weapon swap. Off-hand chance to daze all hit targets 10% after weapon swap.
    • Daze duration 2s.
    • Unstated mechanics: 1% listed CC duration increased per 5% of combat focus.

Grandmaster Minor

  • Target Practice
    • Killing a foe increases Combat Focus
    • Increase Combat Focus by 5% for each kill.

Grandmaster Major

  • Thorough Research
    • Combat Focus reduces the recharge time of slot skills. Using a slot skill reduces Combat Focus by its recharge time.
    • Reduce recharge of slot skills 1% per 5% of Combat Focus. Reduce Combat Focus by 1% per second of the reduced recharge time.
  • Currently Unnamed
    • Combat Focus reduces incoming direct damage. Damage taken reduces Combat Focus.
    • Damage taken reduced by 1% per 3% of combat focus. Combat Focus reduced by 1% per 1% of max health taken as damage. Stacks with Protection.
  • Good Under Pressure
    • Your Combat Focus bar becomes a Break Bar when full until it empties (or OOC). You are immune to Stability and stun breaks. Gain Combat Focus when you would gain Stability or stun break.
    • Gain Combat Focus at a rate of 1% per 1s of 1 stack of Stability.
    • Gain 1% Combat Focus for stun break.

-> Eternal Bliss You take no damage from attacks and grant resistance and protection to yourself and nearby allies. You are still susceptible to crowd control effects. Resistance 1s, Protection 1s, Radius 400, Activation time 6s, charge skill. Prevents capture-point contribution. Rooted when charging. Pulse 1/s. Heal N/A
Bleached Bones Tap into the power of the Crystal Desert’s unforgiving brutality. Inflict burning (1x 2s), weakness (2s) and poison (1x 2s) on pulse in area. Duration 4s, pulse 1/s. Ground targeted, initial radius 200, grows 75/s, maximum radius 500 Utility Archive
Light of Deldrimor Deal damage in an area around you and reveal all stealth foes. Damage 598 (2.250), Revealed (6s), Radius 600 Utility Archive
Li Ming’s Ashes Spill ashes to grant Li Ming’s Purity to yourself and allies in area. Remove conditions from yourself and allies in area when Li Ming’s Purity ends. Conditions removed: 2 Utility Archive
-> Li Ming’s Purity Reduce the duration of incoming conditions. -20% condition duration Utility N/A
Rancidity Concoction Straight from the vile cauldron that produced it. Randomly inflict two conditions on your foe and remove two boons. Blind (10s), immobilized (4s), slow (4s), weakness (10s), chilled (6s). Recharge 25s. Changed times so that all options reduce break bars by ~33.3%. Utility Archive
Eternal Aura You have learned one of the secret practices of long forgotten peacekeepers. Increase your maximum health by 20% . Recharge 200s. Cooldown begins after Dismiss Aura is used. Elite Archive
-> Dismiss Aura Grant protection to yourself and allies and revive downed allies within 400 range. Number of Targets 5, protection 6s. Elite N/A

Elementalist – off-hand

  • Fire 4 – Decrepitate (to break up when exposed to heat)
  • Fire 5 – Serpent’s Venom – wind up with spin then big hit with knockback
  • Water 4 – Coldsnap – Chill target

A possible Wintersday skin could be a yo-yo. The legendary weapon quest could unlock the leather whip, thorn whip, chain whip, morning star, and flame whip from Castlevania 2. The Super Adventure Box skin could be a literal adaptation of one of those. The Legendary quest could open up content in the floating Wizards Tower in Kessex Hills in a Castlevania style even.
