DVG – Desolation Vanguard is looking for dedicated players or groups from other servers to aid Desolation’s resurgence.

In short we are primarly looking for players who play during the European night, and more importantly the European morning. We are seriously interested in individuals or groups that can play through any of the hours of 6am onwards. (GMT +1)

With that said, we are interested in any dedicated WvW players who are willing to be part of something amazing as we try to compete with the top European servers.

Desolation has had a recovery these past couple of months. After an elongated period of frustration, a group of individuals decided to unite together to form DVG with the aim of playing for points and returning Desolation to its former glory. Since DVG was formed we have been victorious in numerous match ups and have managed to score over 205k points against Vizunah (an extremely difficult task for those who have faced them!)

Desolation is currently ranked 4th in Europe but we need to increase our coverage to eventually be able to challenge the top 3 sides.

As a server we have great prime time guilds and probably have one of the best reset night forces in Europe. The only thing that is keeping us from pushing on is our lack of coverage, particularly the morning and early afternoon. (GMT)

DVG is attempting to plug this hole, our commanders are usually tagged up for majority of the 22 hours of ‘off peak’, as well as having our own raids during prime time.

Desolation has an awesome alliance of guilds who meet weekly to discuss all things WvW, there is very little drama between the guilds and we are all friends due to our sharing of a community teamspeak and forums.

What DVG can offer you:

We are also willing to contribute to the transfer costs of players or groups who wish to transfer to Desolation due to its high population as being the PVE capital of the Tyria.

I can say that if anyone was to decide to join us on Desolation, you would not be dissapointed! We have people online 24/7, always doing something fun in WvW!

Unlike some other guilds DVG doesn’t have any hint of elitism, despite they have some really nice veteran commanders, who know their job.

If you want to join a server, who is playing like a server with server wide TS and large active community, not just for elitistic bunch of competitive guilds (“My guild is better than yours”), I can really recommend Desolation. EU currently doesn’t have any better International servers for that type of play.

We had some rough times in Spring 2013 and lost around 1500-2000 hard core WvWvW players due stale match ups. Now we have been improving week after week. Our morning coverage is still really weak at the moment and yesterday afternoon I saw us once again heavily outnumbered (the “buff”) at EB and two BLs. Despite the enemy is outnumbering us, we are most likely going to end up #2 in our current match up, against two higher ranked servers. At best 1 Desolation guy is worth 5 enemy players.

This is NOT a paid promotion. I have no association with DVG. I am just another fighter and PuG commander working to make Desolation the best server in the world.

I got back after a break from the game and after the departure of the hardcore night-shift guys from [IRON].

I have to say I was very positively surprised about how the Deso community reformed a consistent, friendly and enjoyable WvW environment. It is a lot of fun to join battle again with nice and enthusiastic players!

Big kudos to all the guilds and commanders – in particular [DVG] – who made this possible and who led Desolation back to the high ranks. Whomever decides to move to Deso for WvW he/she will have a lot of fun and won’t regret it!

[DvG] are awesome and so is Desolation, they’ve done so good I had forgotten [IRON] ever existed. Keep up the good work guys.

There is something very special building at Desolation WvW. We have pulled out of the darkness of frustration.We always put up a good fight even in defeat.

DVG have some great commanders to run behind.And it is a pleasure to do so.

Currently biting at the heels of Elona for 3rd.But need stronger coverage on all maps to get close to Vizunah and Seafarers.

Even when neck deep in kittens we try to have a laugh.

Yeah def good guild always prepared to help others not to mention one of it’s co-founders came originally from our guild so i know some of the mentality of no fear no surrender will have had an influence and it’s why DVG is always close to my heart.

as long as DVG make sure the players get better gears. wiping them 20v20 pugs v guild and most are upscaled. good strategy with veil nice hammer stun static but you need to gear up your ppls and stop play with upscaled.

Wemil, you have never wiped us even numbers, in fact, you have never wiped us, you have treble the numbers yet we still somehow manage to tick the same as you.

Also, we don’t have upscaled people, unless it’s at night and people want to level alts, I’m pretty sure I remember DVG holding Vizunah garrison, along with the two towers and bay for half of reset, but yeah you’re right, we’re really bad at the game and we should consider slapping ourselves in the face.

PS. The only thing you are good at is getting numbers online in the morning, which I congratulate you on, I wish Desolation could do the same, hence this thread. I’m sure if we had the Ze Drots guild we would be equal to SFR, if not higher.

But thanks for commenting on our recruitment thread, we appreciate the kind words, oh and thanks for getting your ‘lieutenant’ to whisper us all the time, seems we have made quite the impression.

We dont have problem with upleveled, the thing is that we are one of the only guilds on desolation that usually run with a commander tag on. meaning we will attract people that maybe just got in to wvw etc.
