EU Aurora Glade - Fortis Ones [FO] Recruiting
Introduction
We are Fortis Ones [FO], which is roughly translated from Latin to “The Brave Ones”. Fortis has several meanings which are brave, strong, powerful and courageous. Which is what we all aspire to be in our guild; thus the name “Fortis Ones”. We want our guild to be all about fun and true companionship. We want everyone to be comfortable around each other and help each other out when they can. Having people like that in a guild, is what truly makes a guild great.
Now before you consider joining our guild, you really have to have the same feeling on guilds we do. We do not believe in the ability to join more than one guild in GW2. We believe that when you join a guild, you should devote yourself to it and its people to help make it great and support it. If you have this mindset, you most likely are a perfect match for this guild.
We require all members to always be representing our guild, for what is the reason in joining our guild if you are not going to support us by representing and helping us gain valuable influence to help fully upgrade our guild? If you cannot constantly represent our guild, then our guild unfortunately isn’t for you, and we hope you can understand our reasoning for this.
If you are online and not representing our guild, the Guild Leaders and Officers are to contact you and let you know that you’re supposed to be representing us. If you stopped representing us on purpose for another guild, you’ll be given a warning reiterating that we only want loyal members who only wish to stay in our guild and help its people and support the guild. If you continue to stop representing us, we will sadly have to ask you to leave the guild, or have one last chance, but if you do it again, we’ll unfortunately have to remove you. This is why I cannot stress how important it is before you consider joining Fortis Ones, that you need to make sure you have the same mindset as us.
Later down the road if you find that you don’t want to be in our guild anymore, and would rather be in another or several at one time, we do not hold anything against you. As long as you stayed by us during your time in our guild, and you always represented and was pleasant, we’ll be sad to see you go, but we will accept your decision. There’s also nothing wrong with staying as simple friends after you leave the guild.
Now if you feel that you can fully commit yourself to us, please continue to read on and learn more about our guild to help you decide whether or not you should consider joining us. We would be very grateful to have you help us rebuild our guild.
We want to pride ourselves in being an honest and friendly social guild, which doesn’t just do one activity in GW2. We want our members to do everything from PvP to WvW, to running Dungeons and slaying World Bosses. Even help each other do Story Missions if you’re stuck or participate in guild activities and special events on GW2 together.
We also don’t care if you’re a low level or completely new to GW2, we want every one! If you’re new and a low level, you can help the guild grow while you also grow yourself as a player. You’ll find yourself growing alongside the guild which will make Guild Wars 2 an even more fantastic experience than it already is for you. Bear in mind after returning to GW2 from a break, we’re also learning some of the new mechanics that’s changed since we last played ourselves. But we’re already getting used to everything again.
Now let’s move on to the guild ranks.
Fortis Ones Guild Rank System
Guild Leader Ranks (unobtainable)
Regulus
The founder’s rank reserved for myself for being the one to create the guild in the game.
Tentus
The secondary Guild Leader rank reserved for my two close friends who helped start the guild with me many years ago back when GW2 first came out. The only difference from this rank and Regulus mechanically in the game is that only I can edit the guild’s ranks and emblem. But make no mistake, they are still considered fully fledged leaders of the guild.
Officer Rank
Dominari
This rank is reserved for those who have been in the guild for a while and have showed a lot of willingness and aptitude to really help the guild grow. You’ll be allowed to edit the message of the day and use stocked guild items. Your duties will include maintaining order within the guild resolving any grievances between fellow members calmly and peacefully while also making sure members are constantly representing the guild. You’ll also be able to claim forts in the name of our guild. Should you ever become a Dominari, we would appreciate that you take your newly found title fairly seriously acting like the appropriate officer when necessary. You will be a role model for the other members after all.
Standard Member Rank
Tiro
This is the default member rank. This isn’t considered a low rank at all, you are a fully fledged honoured member with access to our bank with helpful items and expected to always represent the guild. Your duty is to just play GW2 like your normally do, help gain us influence, get involved with the guild and help our fellow guildmates when you can. Do this and you can do nothing wrong, who knows you may be able to become a Dominari someday providing you want to. It is completely acceptable to just want to be a standard member helping the guild out without the responsibilities of being an officer by declining a promotion from us if we ever offer it to you for all your hard work in the guild.
And that’s the basics on how our ranking system works in the guild. If you compare it to our previous recruitment post we did a long time ago, things have changed pretty drastically. This is because we want all our members to be able to recruit new members without the need of higher ups to send someone an invite for them.
Our current goal as a guild right now is to bolster back our numbers so we can earn more influence for the guild. We currently have 10 Guild Bounty Training tokens that we’d like to go through, but the lack of numbers is what is holding us back. Everyone’s mission in the guild currently is to go on a mass recruiting spree.
Please make sure to let the people you’re asking if they’d like to join our guild know that we only want people who will constantly represent us. As I’ve said, I cannot stress this enough, so if you do end up joining us and help us recruit more members, please make sure to let them know this extremely important detail.
I’ve created a Guild Text Ad that myself and the other Guild Leader uses for a macro on our keyboard to input in the Map Chat occasionally in some areas to help recruit potential players. If you have a keyboard that can use a macro, please feel free to use it and help us recruit new members while you’re in-game, the ad is as follows:
Fortis Ones [FO] (roughly Latin for “The Brave Ones”) are now recruiting anyone willing to dedicate themselves to a single guild to help it grow. If you’re interested, please /w or mail me.
If you use this and someone whispers you, before inviting them, again please let them know about the need of them to constantly represent us. Especially when they first accept the invitation and if they forget to actually click represent in the guild tab after joining us.
I’d also like to add that while we are serious about our guild, in how we want it to grow and become a great guild for any and all to be in, that doesn’t mean we’re not friendly. We’re an extremely friendly bunch of people who love a good laugh and random friendly fun banter in the guild chat. All we ask is that you act mature and polite to your guild mates. Common courtesy if you will.
Now I’m going to leave a quick short summary bullet points below as a kind of TL;DR for anyone who just wants to quick basic information, however if you are really serious about joining our guild, I highly recommend you read everything I’ve written in this post to give yourself a better understanding on our guild.
TL;DR Summary
- Friendly social guild wanting more members to help grow and gain influence
- It is absolutely mandatory to always be representing our guild
- Absolutely fine for fun, cheerful funny guild banter in chat, but please be mature and respectful to all guild mates.
- When attempting to recruit others in our guild, make sure to tell them that they must be okay with always representing our guild and no other, if they cannot agree to this, then they do not fit in with the guild and you really shouldn’t invite them
This was just a really short summary on what I’ve said in this post, and it doesn’t cover everything. If you find yourself being interested in our guild, I highly recommend you take the time to read this in its entirety.
How To Join
So you’re interested in joining our guild? That’s great! We’d be so happy to hear from you by sending mail to either:
Aarek
Akardion
We hope many of you will contact us and help us grow as a guild again. We look forward to playing with you all and helping each other out and supporting the guild. This time Fortis Ones will be able to sustain itself even if the Guild Leaders go away for unexpected breaks in the future due to what ever life commitment may of come up. Every single members will be able to recruit, and we hope to have new fresh Dominari Officer ranks to help the guild out by next month.
About Guild Bank Use
I’d like to take the time to quickly talk about our Guild Bank arrangements. I’m currently sorting out our bank to hold useful items for all members, so far I’ve stocked the bank with bountiful Dungeon Potions, more are on the way, but it states in the bank tab not to be greedy. Take only what you need, and we’d greatly appreciate members giving back to the bank when they can. Whether it’s coin or simply restocking potions that you’ve used before and would like to return the favour to help out future guild mates.
So far there are extra bags for lower leveled characters and two stacks of 250 potions. The ideal way to take the potions would be to drag the stack into your bag, then ALT drag the stack of 250 to an adjacent slot in your bag and take X amount you would need for your dungeon runs you’re about to do, then kindly return the remainder potions to the bank in the slot it was in when you took it so other guild members can do the same. Feel free to restock the potions yourself if you feel generous enough to do it when the officers/leaders have not had the time to do it themselves yet.
Your efforts to help the guild in this way will not go unnoticed and unrewarded since we will be monitoring the bank history carefully to make sure the guild bank is being used appropriately. Doing helpful services like this for the guild will be a sure way for you to eventually become a Dominari of Fortis Ones. An honourable title indeed, and one not given lightly.
Thank you for reading, and have a wonderful day/evening.
- Aarek, Regulus of Fortis Ones
Just updating that so far we’ve had one application after I put this Guild Recruitment post up. We’re really in dire need of active dedicated members. Currently we only consist of four active members including the new addition we recently recruited.
I’d greatly appreciate more support if anyone can spare it. We don’t have a billion boring strict rules in our guild, we only ask that you represent us.
If anyone has any questions at all that they feel if answered would help them decide whether to join our guild or not, please don’t hesitate to contact me here on the thread or by mail in-game.
Thank you for reading.
