I’ll try to keep this as short, yet informative, as possible. [KoD] started as a small group of hometown friends who played GW2 [among numerous other games] together. We’re pretty small for a guild, can’t deny that. But that makes us a tight-knit and warm guild. And we hope to grow larger and welcome similar minded players into our family-of-sorts.
What we offer
- A friendly and relaxed environment for you to pass your time away.
- An understanding that real life always comes first. Most of us are in college. We have jobs, classes, and other obligations of our own. You likely have obligations of your own as well, and that’s totally fine.
- An IRC channel for those of you who utilize such means of communication. ##cornellirc@irc.freenode.net [Although that’s just where I, the Guild Leader, can be actively and easily reached]
- Some Guild buffs and we’re working towards unlocking Guild Missions for the future.
Our Playstyle
- PvE – We’ll work on dailies together and do world bosses, champions, and map completion. We love dungeons, and want to start doing fractals soon.
- WvW – We do have a Commander tag and are now based out of Crystal Desert, for those who are interested. However, our primary focus is regarding PvE.
- We’re currently EST based for time zones. The times which we’re online vary per day, but you’re likely to see us online in the evening and on weekends the most.
What we ask of you
To be friendly.
We want to foster strong and healthy connections between our guildmates. Don’t feel shy or hesitate to get involved. Chat with us! Start a party to go run a certain dungeon path or kill that champ that you’ve been struggling with! We want you to make the most of your gaming experience.
To have a thick skin.
We like to poke fun at each other and NSFW language isn’t exactly uncommon. So if you’re the type that simply abhors foul language or can’t take a joke, you probably won’t enjoy our company very much.
To understand real life comes first.
Say exams roll around or we’re busy with our jobs, or maybe we’re even playing other games. [We do love our DOTA and CS:GO] Every active member is not always online everyday. That’s not to say that our core group is not active and involved as a whole. Do we go inactive on GW2 sometimes? Yes, because life catches up with us. But we keep coming back.
To speak up.
If you decide to leave or don’t like something about the Guild, tell one of us. Speak your mind. We’ve had members join us, decline opportunities to play with us, and eventually simply leave. For what reason? We’re not too sure ourselves. But if there’s things we can improve upon, we want to know. A Guild is a community and we all work together to make the community better for the whole.
