My guild, Tonic [Lime] has been around since shortly before the launch of GW2. We celebrated 5 years in January by holding a tonic parade in Divinity’s Reach (we thought it was going to be destroyed so we figured we’d give it its last hurrah!)
Historically, we’ve always been an active guild and launch players who were on Crystal Desert still find us around and say hi and that they remember us. We used to run fun community/guild events called Tonic Tuesdays like fashion shows, jumping puzzle races, etc. We were even featured in the TERA newsletter for our naked race event (pre-GW2).
We used to have guild meet-ups every year called ToniCon. We had our last one in Vegas. We have had guild members date (IRL!) and I even had a guild member in my wedding party.
Alas, real life is hard and officers got taken away by it. I’ve tried to run the guild by myself and we still have a small, loyal crew but we need some help to restructure and get back our Limey pride we once had!
Here’s our blurb: Our guild was established in 2012 with the purpose of building a close-knit gaming community that caters to the busy adult. We understand that life comes first and have no mandatory events or time commitments. We believe in the power of respect and look for supportive members who value teamwork. Elitism and aggression are not tolerated here; we work together to achieve our goals. While we are based out of North America, we accept players from all over the globe and embrace diversity. We are always looking for committed, social players who enjoy all aspects of multiplayer gaming in a more casual, semi-competitive environment.
Here’s how we generally recruit: Community is our number one focus here at Tonic, so we recruit slowly and carefully with interviews for each potential new Lime. Our aim is to have a small, close group of people that actively plays and interacts socially with each other. We expect majority guild representation (>90%), as we have found this to put more emphasis on loyalty to our community.
We have an active Discord, a level 52 guild hall, and a pretty cool (but simple) website.
Essentially, we’re a diverse adult group with some filthy casuals and some (non-elitist) try hards that has dwindled in active numbers. We need help with growing again. We want some officers to help maintain our completely drama free environment, run some events, raids, and just continue to build the community we have always had.
We are proud of our guild name and take pride in being Limes so we are not looking to merge into another guild but we will consider very small guilds merging into ours.
