I completely agree Sharpoon. Though Player turnover still exists. As amazing as it is to get a whole Guild moving over, it’s also going to be about getting the individuals and new players to come to JQ.

I think one of our greatest strengths is our full spectrum of Guilds to join in JQ. From the super serious militarized PvP Guilds. To the goofy, zany, and equally awesome PvP Guilds. We have our casual PvX Guilds that do a little of everything. Then our great PvE community too! Because we have to be honest, most of the content and rewards are still in PvE. Which JQ excels in helping each other in greatly.

I’m on TC. I have played against many of the servers since launch, and I have to say Ebay has some of the most skilled players I’ve seen. Fully enjoyed fighting against them. Unlike some servers like SoR who’s field combat isn’t even on par with FA.

Yes, we’re all similar Sharpoon. Yet, there’s certainly differences once you begin guesting about. Just jumping around different Lion’s Arch’s and you’ll come to find JQ certainly has one of the liveliest in the game. You’ll find most of the recurring content is successfully completed. For example the Orrian Temples.

To me, JQ has almost become the Hub for NA servers. Similar to how TC has been the unofficial Role Play server.

I think the server cap should have never been raised to the point where a server the size of JQ needs to increase it’s numbers to be competitive.

They need to cap the borderlands, and have T1 bleed out some people; that should balance out the matches nicely.

I think everyone would rather this be about skill, rather than who can throw the most warm bodies at an opponent for as many hours of the day as possible.

Honestly after reading the current Tier 1 matchup thread, I have to agree with the OP.

You got guilds transferring off of one Tier 1 server to go to another just to stack up. Its an odd community up there.

Unfortunately the lure of winning the PPT really resonates with people. I really do hope that the future changes ANET is bringing fixes some of these issues of coverage and the stacking of servers.

Big shout out to AGG for going to SoS. I’m sure you choices had more to do with about getting all of your players into a BL than anything…but congrats on making a logical choice of going to a lower Tier server and not bandwagoning(yet again) to a crappy Tier 1 server.

This skill lag is really screwing your zerg fights over. If this ever gets fixed everyone will have to start playing for real. :P

Wow, I haven’t laughed this hard in a LONG time. If you think AGG transferring to SOS will help them in any way PPT wise, you’re sorely mistaken. Their only focus is GVG and fights, they only move to lower tiers to work on their strat or for new guilds to GVG with.

At best, AGG might be able to distract zergs allowing other teams to sweep in and take a few towers, but that will only last as long as the forces they go up against are willing to fight them. If a map starts to avoid them or if they repeatedly get wiped, they will switch maps. Seen it time and time again.

I wasn’t planning on responding, but eh, what the heck…

What I get from Pariah’s post isn’t about really, stopping the recruitment of additional guilds for JQ, BG, SOR (well, we dropped so whatever right?)… nor is it really the “hypocrisy” of JQers complaining about skill lag (I see the complaints) yet wanting MORE players on the field….

Truly what I get out of it is that ANet doesn’t seem to be doing a kitten thing about the skill lag issues. I don’t know anything about the technical aspects of the game… like servers, and whatnots, and how many players start to slow things down, etc. etc. But what I do know, or at least feel, is that ANet doesn’t seem to have a lot of staff dedicated to WvW compared to a lot of other aspects of the game.

Seriously, we still don’t have a decent “warband” type tool to REALLY help us better organize groups… or even have private squads which would benefit smaller and mid-sized guilds running in WvW. Not much really has been done to radically improve WvW since probably the culling… Orbs are still dysfunctional and inert. Nothing new, nothing interesting… and sure we have Ascended Gear in WvW, but is that really a major improvement or just catching up with the rest of the game?

And here PvE has new content every other week.

I know ya’ll are kitten Pariah and even possibly lost respect or whatever for her. But honestly, I think she wants US, as the WvW community, or at least the T1 WvW community, to step up and not just accept the status quo of whatever ANet gives us, but instead, step up our voices, and challenge the game developers to do something MORE for WvW… like focus some man power on the Skill Lag issue… as they did Culling.

I didn’t mention anything about ppt…are you making up arguments in your head?

I just said I respected them for leaving Tier 1, the queues and the skill lag behind. Its a good choice for a large guild.

I agree with them switching maps though, we seen it when we faced them also. :P

For the record, AGG does help our PPT because they are keeping enemies on whatever map they enter.

I would expect TSYM, more than anyone not on SoS atm, should understand how few NA we had left. We had maybe, at the most, 4-5 WvW guilds left in NA and only Fang could put any significant numbers out.

Even with the great folks from the former ORL and now AGG, we still are anemic in our bracket and if anyone is looking for a great opportunity for NA GvBL (guild versus Borderland) we still have that kind of opportunity available.
