THE GEM SHOP PURCHASE GAME! (Real life fun guarenteed!)

I thought about this for a good while and it started making some really crazy sense. It was inspired by a post someone else made in another topic that I’ll quote at the end of this post.

Using either one of these (your preference) – create a game for yourself that will determine whether or not you are allowed to purchase gems from the GW2 cash shop.

You will need:

1) 5 Decks of playing cards, shuffled together
2) 15 Dice

Before playing:

If you should choose the deck of cards – remove all but 1 of a certain card. (EX: Remove 19 of the 20 Aces.) For the dice, all of the dice must land on the exact same number.

Rules:

Now, when deciding to make a gem store purchase. Pull out your setup of choice (the dice, or the cards) and “roll” to see whether or not you are allowed to make the purchase you are about to make.

1) If you do not draw an Ace – you are not allowed to make your gem store purchase.

2) Alternatively if you do not roll and land all 15 of the di on the same number, you are not allowed to make your gem store purchase.

Conclusion:

Doing so will add a bit of RNG to your decision and will likely result in a net GAIN of money in your pockets.

Thus! The added gambling will help ensure your bank account (in real life) stays a bit fuller.

RNG – we can make it work for us too!

I have created a 1000 sided die simulation which I will start when the new expansion rolls out. I will pick one number out of 1000. If that number comes up when I roll, I will pay the expansion’s full price. I will also pick 9 other numbers. If they come up, I will buy the expansion at a severe discount. I intend to roll this die as many times as it usually takes me to get extremely bored of rewards with extremely kittenty odds – usually around 10.

Winning through this simulation will ensure that I will have FUN in the expansion, because moving forward, no amount of Molyneuxian hype will make me purchase anything without it having a foot in a gachapon box.

I think there’s only 16 aces in a deck, but this is a good idea. Fortunately, the RNG item this time is weapon skins, and, as they look a lot like the kitten weapons from GW1, I have no interest (so, no desire to waste real money on them).

Also, as I have plenty of dice, I think I’ll take that route if they ever make anything I do want (assuming ESO isn’t any good and I’m still here).

.

Not in my deck but it does give people a nice visual would you give some one 10 bucks for a gamble that you could pull one card out of 5 shuffled decks?

If the answer is no dont do the same thing with keys for a skin.

I had to reread that, I seriously thought it was just one deck. I need sleep. Don’t ask where the 16 came from, I have no idea.
