I got into a fractal group through posting on gw2lfg with 4 guilded people. We made it to maw then they kicked me after all the Jades died for their guild member because they want to level that guy up.

The moral of the story is treat teammates with respect and this will most likely not happen.

Hmm, an accusation delivered absent any evidence. That’s sure treating people the way you want to be treated! While the party kick system is fraught with the potential for abuse, you’re not making your case as the victim with statements like this.

Kinda reminds me of this run my buddy did with some idiot. At Jade Maw, this guy was picking up the crystal right as others were being targeted getting them killed, and telling people “this ones mine, find your own”. My friend said at one point he went afk a few mins holding a crystal, & was just being a total jerk to everyone. So after Jade Maw died, they kicked him before he got the chest. I thought it was pretty funny & served him right. I hope he learned a lesson.

I know this wasn’t the case with your group, but just reminded me of what he said and i thought i’d share it.

I have a more interesting story.
A few hours ago we were fighting the last boss in Colossus fract, my phone rang and I placed my char safely behind a rock then went to answer (it was like 2 seconds).
Turns out the whole team was wiped because they were jumping inside the boss in an attempt to bug him and get the “free” hammer; I got told that it’s disrespectful to players that I answered phone and didn’t help them to bug the boss.
I was not kicked just because I was the one doing the healing (without that they would have died terribly 2 fracts earlier), but there was an attempt.

Let alone leavers… I wish there was a penalty for leaving, in most games there is.

Easier revenge ? Take a pic doing the abusive bug during execution, stay still and take pics of it, with group’s names and if you’re kicked, report them attempting to exploit the game, pushing you found inappropriate this behaviour. Be silent on chat, when kicked, report them with a support ticket. Be pushy with support , most are idiots telling you they cannot do nothing , remember them Robert Hrouda told us abuse like this one of this thread are banned. They should be banned , soon, after an investigation

If even 2 people in the group are “together” (whether part of the same Guild, on each others’ friends list, etc) you have the potential to be kicked at the final boss to let their other friend/guildmate/etc. join and reap the benefits of killing the final boss. This is an issue that needs to be addressed.

This very very rarely happens because people in general are not (insert profanity here).

A majority of the times people do get kicked before the end it’s due to them getting their team mad in one way or another.

I can see your issue. Its 1 thing to kick someone whose not able to handle the boss/dungeon but thats only after you’ve tried to correct the problem with some advise, tactics change, ect.

To kick someone out without any kinda warning after 1 fail tho is stupid. it could of been any number of reasons. but if had to guess he didn’t like your class,weapons/build.

personal I like to see gw2 use WOW tactic. kick to many times in a short period and you lose that ability for a while.

Its happened to me too, every time I get a group that way i’m always nervous when we get near the end.

i reported guildies who kicked me from Anet customer support site.
and Anet replied it.

I agree – this kick system where you are booted clean out of the dungeon is just crappy. I just reached level 80 last week and have been starting my dungeon crawling career. Everyone in these parties that “lfg” in the chats (even the frickin terminology needs a glossary) seem to be totally intolerant of anyone new, they run past enemies at certain points and I would just get left behind and killed. Then when they reached a certain place I was “supposed to stand there” – needless to say I was seriously confused. Then “boom” – kicked out of the party and dungeon. Made me feel really sucky and not wanting to play dungeons any more. There really needs to be something done about this – it’s not fair and very difficult on dungeon newbies. I appreciate that people want bang-for-buck in their hours spent but at this rate how will we ever learn. Isn’t it exploitive to just run past certain events/enemies anyways?

I don’t believe running past enemies to be exploiting. If you’re just trying to get tokens, why kill everything in the instance. Just like in open world, if you’re just going for map completion, why kill everything you see? Once you try Arah, you’ll think “No way in hades am I killing everything here!”.

My advice to you would be to let the group know you are new to the dungeon. Most groups won’t have a problem with it as long as there wasn’t a “be experienced” prerequisite.

Just the other day I ran CoF 1 and it turned out we had a new guy. He didn’t say anything though. He just ran along with us, it was assumed he knew the run. However, when we got to the gate controller he didn’t know he was supposed to stay in a dome. It caused one person to die inside their dome and almost got me killed at the gate control. So we had to run away and start that part over.

Now, I still didn’t kick. Personally it takes a lot for me to kick someone. We explained it and then made it through fine. If he had just told us he was new, we could have explained before we got there and avoided the fiasco.

On the reverse side, we were doing 24 or something and had a guy join. We asked if he had 15+ AR and he said “yeah, dude”. During the urban fractals he claimed to ‘know’ to go left, so I started asking him how he knew, since I would like to know this trick. He said something confusing and I asked for clarification, which he then told me to get an education. Coming from a college grad chemical engineer, I was rather upset.

I brushed it off, even though he died a lot. At Maw, with the unavoidable agony, he was downed immediately. He claimed to do several 30+ but it was clear he didn’t even have 10AR. We kicked him immediately and got a filler.

I’m sure he came running to map chat or the forums to complain.

Not trying to burst your bubble, OP, but i’d like to hear the other side of the story first. I have pugged all the way into the 40’s and every other dungeon and was never kicked during the run, as a thief nonetheless. I was kicked a few times before we started, because of ewww thieves.

Also you’d be surprised how some players in the 30’s still don’t know the mechanics, players can be carried through the 20’s and 30’s.

And i am not implying anything, except for needing to hear the other side of the story.

Don’t join dungeon groups with Lfm Need x Class tags or anything full capitals. If you ever need some dungeons done, just pm ingame (NA server).

I really hope they fix this in the next major patch This has been a known issue since release. They’ve had over 6 months to fix this issue, so it’s pretty safe to assume the fix for it should finally be appearing within the next month or so.

Really? It’s probably one of those “get to it immediately problems” like right click targetting.

To the poster: I usually take a screenshot when running with pugs and if something happened I’d report them. It never happened to me though.
