Guild Wars 2

Ok so me and a buddy of mine wanted to run Ascalonian Catacombs, he’s a level 50 Ranger and I’m a level 35 Warrior. I was going to tank best I could seeing as I have more armor than him but we just kept dying… So what I want to know is there a way we could 2 man this? Or will we need more people after all?

Well, you could if you both were experienced with the dungeon and game mechanics itself. It’s just not really worth it, unless you’re purely doing it for the challenge.

Is the Ghastly Armor Set not worth trying to get? Were not new to the game but were by no means experienced either. I really liked the dungeon experience in other games and it was my favorite way to spend a night on a game. Literally when I played WoW that’s all I did to level was grind dungeons.

This is a bit off topic from the previous post but it kinda fits. In WoW I was able to make a pretty good profit from dungeons, and other games of the like. Is grinding dungeons in Guild Wars not a good source of money? If not, then what is a good source of money?

I think what the first responder was referring to was your attempt to duo the instance.

A full group of five will be of considerable help.

The various armor sets can be worth it depending on the type of build you want to play.

Dungeons are made for a full group. The less people you have, the more difficult it will get. Doing AC with two people, you will not get past burrows in path 1 and 3, nor past trap event in path 2.

Whether the gear is good depends on your build and play style.

However, be sure to add your level in the notes, or be prepared to be kicked . After the nerf, very few people group <80 for AC explo ( should be fine if you wanna do story )

Yeah we were working on the story when we kept dying. I’ve looked at the site a few times, it seems a bit confusing though, but I should be able to figure it out.

To request to join a party without wispering them first copy their name from the gw2lfg site. Switch back to the gw2 game and type “/join” into your chat box. Now press and hold down the control key on your keyboard and then press the letter v. Press enter and this will send a join request to that party. If it doesnt then the player is not in a party and is solo. Then use “/invite Players name” instead of “/join”.

As good as the GW2LFG is for finding quick parties, they do not always end with a happy ending. I recommend you find yourself a good Dungeon guild that is willing to help you learn, as PUG’s can often lead to unnecessary frustration.

Or real tears, last night we never got past the burrows the group i was with, so i thought i’d try again today with a different group and it was so much faster, some dungeons i’ve tried with others would be enough to put you off dungeons for life, it did me for ages, so i haven’t done many dungeons even though i’ve been a lvl 80 warrior for months now, been playing more wvw.

The dungeon guild sounds like a good idea as i’d like to do more dungeons, i’m happy to change traits, armours, weapons (keep different sets in inventory) i always use food, so i’m easy.
